Last night was the first ever People Magazine Awards ceremony, honoring celebrities for their work in pop culture. Nick Cannon hosted, with performances by Gwen Stefani, Pharrell, Maroon 5 and 5 Seconds of Summer. Among the winners:

Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross were married on August 31 and immediately started trying for a baby. All that hard work pays off! The couple is expecting their first child. Ashlee has her son, 6-year-old Bronx Mowgli, from her previous marriage to Pete Wentz.

RadarOnline.com is reporting that Kanye West didn’t just skip Thanksgiving with his family, he’ll probably miss Christmas, too! Remember how Kanye spent Thanksgiving in Paris with some random buddies while Kim and North did Thanksgiving at her sister Khloe’s house? Well, Kanye wants to celebrate Christmas in Paris, too, and he wants Kim and North to join him there, but Kim is saying absolutely not. She thinks Christmas is a time for ALL the family to be together and she wants North to be with her cousins. A source told Radar, “Kris (Jenner) always has a huge party on Christmas Eve, and Kanye just isn’t feeling it this year.” Right now, neither one of them is caving. By the way, Bruce and Kris Jenner’s divorce agreement is settled, but it won’t be legal until March 23. She keeps the house, the Rolls, the Bentley and the Land Rover. He gets the Porsche, the Escalade and the Harley. But just to make things even, Kris has to write Bruce a check for $2.5 million.

Instagram recently told its users, “Your number of followers has changed. We just completed a fix to remove spammy accounts.” How did this effect some celebrities, many of whom are accused of buying followers so they can charge more for their sponsored postings? It hit some harder than others. Justin Bieber lost 3.5 million. Kim Kardashian’s Instagram is down by 1.3 million. Rihanna lost 1.2 million. Katy Perry is down by 300K and Oprah lost 100K. Bravo’s Andy Cohen tweeted, “I lost 20K followers in the #InstagramPurge…Twitter, next?” And Instagram didn’t exclude itself in the purge. They lost 18 million followers.

Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden are engaged!! I feel like I wished this into the universe! Us Weekly has multiple sources confirming the news. Cameron and Benji began dating in May of this year after being set up by Benji’s sister-in-law, Nicole Richie. A source told the magazine that Benji tends to fall in love easily, but this time, it’s for real. Cameron’s mom, Billie, is said to be thrilled about the news. He may be covered in tattoos, but Benji is a great guy and Billie just loves him for Cameron.
