“Fast & Furious 9” update… Tom Holland is a hero… Ariana Grande’s new role… Cardi B showed up for court… and Camila Cabello splits from boyfriend Matthew Hussey

Tyrese Gibson can finally stop being mad at Dwayne Johnson. “Fast & Furious 9” was postponed so Dwayne could squeeze in the “Hobbes & Shaw” spinoff with Jason Statham. Tyrese didn’t like that one bit because it kept him from getting his check! But Vin Diesel revealed on Instagram yesterday that they just completed the first day of filming on “Fast & Furious 9,” which couldn’t have gotten here fast enough. The movie hits theaters on May 20, 2020, with the 10th one due the following year.

Tom Holland is being called a real life superhero by the young woman he saved from being crushed in a mob. The damsel in distress told Access Hollywood that she was in this big group of people who’d been waiting a couple hours to meet Tom, who is doing all this press to promote his new Spider-Man movie. When he finally came out, she said she was crushed against the barricade by at least 30 men who were scrambling to get Tom’s autograph. She started having a panic attack, but that’s when Tom stepped in to save the day, telling them men to back off or he’d throw all the stuff they wanted to get signed down to the floor. And in what could have been a super romantic moment that actually went nowhere, Tom told the woman, “It’s okay. I got you….I got you.” Fortunately, the young lady wasn’t injured, but unfortunately she didn’t get the selfie she was hoping for.

Her music career has gotten so big that we sometimes forget that Ariana Grande is also an actress. She just landed a huge role in a new movie called “The Prom,” which is based on the Broadway musical. The story is about an Indiana teenager who wants to bring her girlfriend to the high school prom, which ends up getting her banned from prom. Ryan Murphy will direct the movie version, which will be in theaters next year and then move over to Netflix. In addition to Ariana, “The Prom” will also star Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, James Corden, Awkafina, and Keegan-Michael Key. Scooter Braun will produce the soundtrack.

Cardi B showed up on time for court to enter a plea on a ton of charges, which include two counts of felony attempted assault with intent to cause serious physical injury. When the judge asked her how she was pleading, Cardi said, “Not guilty, sir honor.” Back in April, Cardi rejected a plea deal that would have her pleading guilty to misdemeanor assault in the third degree. If she’d taken that deal, she wouldn’t be facing jail time. Now, she could get up to four years if she’s found guilty! This all goes back to last summer when two sisters working at a strip club claim Cardi orchestrated an attack on them because she believed one of them was sleeping with her man.
