The NFL has lost the NFL Sunday Ticket lawsuit… Don Lemon is suing Elon Musk… SNL ticket lottery is now open… Pauly Shore has recently made comments… and Cardi B has filed for divorce from Offset
A federal judge has tossed out a jury’s $4.7B judgment against the NFL over the price of its NFL Sunday Ticket. This lawsuit was first filed way back in 2015 and covers the 2.4M residential subscribers and 48K businesses who paid to watch out-of-market NFL games on DirecTV from 2011-2022. But after 29 years on DirecTV, in 2023, the NFL kicked off a 7-year, $14B deal with YouTube TV, which moved Sunday Ticket to streaming. So the class action lawsuit that was filed claims the NFL broke antitrust laws by selling the Sunday game package at an inflated price but only offering Sunday Ticket games on a satellite provider. The case was dismissed by a federal judge in 2017, but was brought back to life by the 9th Circuit and eventually went to trial. Back in June, a jury awarded the plaintiffs $4.7B, but a judge has now tossed that out after concluding that the experts the plaintiffs used in calculating their damages were using faulty economic models, and their figures were all basically “guesswork or speculation.”
The NFL got a major call overturned: A federal judge Thursday threw out a jury’s $4.7 billion award to subscribers of the league’s Sunday Ticket, finding that the verdict in was unsupported by evidence presented in the class-action case. https://t.co/spNoaQX5ZQ

Speaking of lawsuits, Don Lemon is suing Elon Musk for canceling his X show after just one episode. Don claims Elon verbally agreed to pay him $1.5M a year for creating videos for X, with the promise that he’d get a portion of the ad revenue if his shows brought more attention to the platform. Don claims that because of these “false promises” he invested hundreds of dollars of his own money to create his show, only to be fired after his first disastrous interview with his new boss. Don claims this is a breach of contract and potentially a violation of the law. Don’s lawyer released a statement saying, “X’s executives used Don to prop up their advertising sales pitch, then canceled their partnership and dragged Don’s name through the mud.” So Don is now suing Elon for fraud, negligent misrepresentation, misappropriation of name and likeness, breach of contract, and other legal claims. He’s willing to let a judge or jury decide what dollar amount those damages are worth.
Don Lemon is suing Elon Musk over cancelled X deal. You can see from this video segment that Elon warns him to choose his questions carefully, but still asks the same question. This was the moment everyone knew it was the worst show ever.

But the thing is, you can’t request a specific show date. And you have to be at least 16 years old. And if you get picked, you only get 2 tickets. And even though they say it’s completely random, you still have to say why you want to be part of the audience. To enter, in addition to your reason why, email your full name and email address to SNLTickets@NBCUNI.com. You can only enter once and you will only be notified if you’re chosen. If you ARE lucky enough to be chosen, you will not be seeing Punkie Johnson. After 4 seasons, she’s leaving SNL. At her standup show on Wednesday, someone asked what she was most looking forward to in Season 50. Not wanting to lie, Punkie said, “Oh, I ain’t coming back. It’s no bad blood, it’s no bridges burned, it’s no hard feelings.”

Pauly Shore says he is moving forward with his Richard Simmons’ biopic, The Court Jester. Before he passed away, Richard posted on social media that he never gave his permission for this project, but Pauly begs to differ. He told Entertainment Tonight, “I know he wanted me to do it. I don’t even know if that was him tweeting the whole time. I don’t know who that was.” But Richard’s team clapped back, posting on his official X account, “Pauly Shore has recently made comments to Entertainment Tonight concerning his attempts to proceed with an unauthorized movie about Richard. You’ve seen here on Richard’s account what he had to say about the biopic. We’d also like to share the following statement from Richard’s brother, Lenny. ‘Dicky absolutely wrote his own posts. He worked on them a week in advance, going over and over them to get the right message. He would often read them to Cathy and I beforehand. What he has NOT done was to text, email, or call Pauly with anything; not even to wish him ‘Good Luck; as Pauly has stated many times.” But one celebrity who IS on board with her upcoming biopic is Britney Spears. Universal Pictures has acquired the rights to her memoir The Woman in Me, and they’re turning it into a movie with producer Marc Platt and Wicked director Jon M. Chu. Britney posted on X, “Excited to share with my fans that I’ve been working on a secret project with #MarcPlatt. He’s always made my favorite movies … stay tuned”

Cardi B has filed for divorce from Offset…..again. A source told Page Six that it wasn’t about the recent cheating rumors and that the two of them had just grown apart. Offset seems to be good with it. He liked a post by The Neighborhood Talk that said, “Oop! Offset slapped with divorce papers amid being accused of cheating: ‘this is something she wants to do.’” Offset and Cardi were married in September 2017, but they’ve broken up and gotten back together several times. As recently as December, Cardi posted that she’d been “single for a minute” but then she and Offset were spotted out together like nothing had happened. When announcing her divorce filing, Cardi also confirmed that she’s pregnant. She and Offset share 5-year-old daughter Kulture and 2-year-old son Wave.
