Weekend box office news… Jennifer Lopez wrapped up her residency… Gwyneth Paltrow & Brad Falchuk were married… Lindsay Lohan tries to kidnap a kid… and Cardi B to turn herself in to police

The new Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish movie “Night School” opened in first place at the box office with $28 million, which is almost exactly what it cost to make. The new “Smallfoot” debuted in second with $23 million. “The House With a Clock in Its Walls” followed in third with $12.5 million. And then you’ve got “A Simple Favor” in fourth with $6.5 million and “The Nun” in fifth with $5.4 million.

Well! I missed it! After 3 years, Jennifer Lopez wrapped up her Las Vegas residency Saturday night. A lot of celebrities were in the audience for her last show, including her ex-boyfriend, Sean Combs. She gave him a shout out. LL Cool J came up to sing their song “All I Have.” At the end of her show, Jennifer’s family and her backup dancers stood on stage with her as she prepared to take her final bow. She told the crowd, “I saw this quote today that said, ‘How lucky am I to have something that’s so difficult to say goodbye to?’” She also thanked Alex Rodriguez for all his support, saying he’s seen the show more than anyone she knows.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Falchuk were married Saturday in the Hamptons. The night before, Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld hosted the rehearsal dinner in their home. The next day, they were among the 75 guests at the wedding. Among the other celebrities attending were Robert Downey Jr., Steven Spielberg, Rob Lowe, Cameron Diaz and her husband Benji Madden. The next day, Gwyneth posted a picture of her and Brad holding hands wearing their new gold wedding bands. No caption necessary.

Despite everybody making fun of her, Lindsay Lohan believes she did the right thing. Lindsay went Instagram Live to show herself confronting a homeless family in Russia and trying to rescue two boys she believed were Syrian refugees who were victims of child trafficking. Lindsay speaks with a thick accent as she follows the family, telling the boys that she wasn’t going to leave them. But when she actually tried to grab one of the boys, the mom punched her in the face! Sources close to Lindsay told The Blast that Lindsay is now back in Paris and she’s very shaken up over the whole incident. But they say she is brushing off all the backlash she’s receiving because, unlike us, she was there to witness the situation first-hand and she’s still convinced those kids were in danger.

TMZ is reporting that Cardi B will turn herself into police today for allegedly ordering an attack on two bartenders at a strip club in Queens. The women who were attacked — Jade and Baddie Gi — told police that Cardi had it out for Jade because she believes Jade had slept with Offset. Migos happened to be performing at the strip club and Cardi tagged along. When she ran into Jade and Baddie Gi, she allegedly ordered her crew to attack them with bottles and chairs. TMZ says when Cardi turns herself in today, she won’t be arrested, but she will likely be charged with two misdemeanors and then get a summons to appear in court at a later date.
