The Billboard Music Awards were supposed to happen back in May, but because COVID, the show got bumped to Oct. 4th, with Kelly Clarkson back as host. Post Malone leads with 16 nominations, followed by Lil Nas X with 13, and Billie Eilish and Khalid each have 12. Music had to be released between March 2019 and March 2020 to be considered for this year’s awards, which is why some of the nominations seem SOOOOOO old. For instance, up for Top Song are “Someone You Loved” by Lewis Capaldi, “bad guy” by Billie Eilish, “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X ft. Billy Ray Cyrus, “Truth Hurts” by Lizzo, and “Señorita” by now former couple, Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes.

The rumors were true. Teddi Mellencamp will not be coming back for a 3rd season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The reason? She’s boring. And just to kick her while she’s down, a lot of people are criticizing her for her boring announcement. At least give Teddi credit for being honest that her contract wasn’t being renewed. She posted a video saying, “Of course I could give you the standard response of, ‘Oh we both came to the decision that it would be best.’ Nah, I’m not going to do that — that’s not who I am. Of course, when I got the news I was sad. It feels like a breakup, almost, because you develop such strong relationships with the cast, with the crew. And you get to do incredible things that you probably never get to experience without the show…”

Yesterday, Kobe Bryant’s widow, Vanessa, filed a lawsuit against the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. She says she suffered devastating emotional damages after learning pictures of the crash site were taken and shared by deputies within the department and one instance in public. The lawsuit says in part, “…Faced with a scene of unimaginable loss, no fewer than eight sheriff’s deputies at the crash site pulled out their personal cell phones and snapped photos of the dead children, parents and coaches. The gratuitous images soon became talked about within the department, as deputies displayed them to colleagues in settings that had nothing to do with investigating the accident. One deputy even used his photos of the victims to try to impress a woman at a bar, bragging about how he had been at the crash site.” Vanessa is seeking damages “in an amount to be proven at trial.”

Liv Tyler has decided not to come back for the second season of “9-1-1: Lone Star.” It wasn’t because she went back and watched the show’s and suddenly realized how absolutely ridiculous it is. It’s because Liv lives in London and she would fly back and forth to LA to film the show, which is set in Austin. But the quarantine restrictions made that too difficult, so she decided to part ways with the show. Her role will not be recast, but Gina Torres is joining the show in a new role and she’s fun. “9-1-1: Lone Star” is scheduled to begin filming later this fall and premiere early next year.

SPOILER ALERT!! It was the first elimination on Tyra Banks’ reimagined version of “Dancing With the Stars.” One thing she didn’t change was how they did it last go ‘round. The bottom two are still based on a combination of the judges’ scores and the home audience’s votes, but the judges have the final say on who gets the boot. This week, Carole Baskin and former NBA star Charles Oakley were in the bottom, but Carole lives to dance another day. Meantime, she’s being sued for participating in all the jokes being made on the show about her former husband Don Lewis’ disappearance and presumed murder. Don’s daughters Donna, Gayle and Lynda, along with his former assistant Anne McQueen, are suing Carole for defamation, saying there’s nothing funny about this whatsoever.
