Ezekiel Elliott’s appeal… The Weeknd is too tired… Selena Gomez’s IG was hacked… Floyd Mayweather picked Demi Lovato to sing… and Celebrities pledge support to Hurricane Harvey victims
Ezekiel Elliott will be at NFL headquarters in NYC today to appeal his six game domestic violence suspension. His ex-girlfriend accused him of physically abusing her, which Ezekiel strongly denies. He’s being represented by the same guy who represented Tom Brady in the DeflateGate scandal. But if Zeke doesn’t prevail, he’s expected to file a lawsuit in federal court.
The Weeknd was up for four Moon Men — excuse me, Moon Persons — and he was scheduled to perform at the VMAs Sunday night. But he no-showed because he was tired and just didn’t feel like it. He scheduled the VMAs appearance before he realized a long time ago that he would be too tired, so there’s that.
Being the most followed person on Instagram is just too tempting for hackers, who decided to take over Selena Gomez’s IG yesterday, posting naked pictures of her ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber. Her record label got the account deactivated as quickly as they realized what had happened and it was back up and running after the nudies were deleted. For those who may have momentarily believed that Selena was behind the photos, she told Vogue magazine back in April that after she went away for emotional rehab, she deleted the IG app from her phone and doesn’t even know her own password.
Did you know that Floyd Mayweather picked Demi Lovato to sing the National Anthem before the fight Saturday night? And did you know that two days after she sang that anthem and the day after she performed for the VMAs, Demi earned her blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?? Demi made the announcement on her Instagram, saying she fell in love with this practice of martial arts a year ago and has been training several times a week ever since.
I'm so beyond excited because I just received my blue belt in #brazilianjiujitsu!!!! I fell in love with #BJJ over a year ago and have been training several times a week ever since.. thank you so much to @chilcote.dunn @captainHarlan_ @tarsisbjj for giving me my belt along with one of the most important and special women in my life today @officialdaniellemartin/@trueboundaries – I love you so much and couldn't be more grateful for you 💙💙💙💙 also special shoutout to @jayglazer for flying in to give me my belt as well!!! Celebrities are rallying to help with those who’ve been devastated by Hurricane Harvey. Beyonce is from Houston and she released a statement to the Houston Chronicle saying that she’s working closely with her BeyGOOD organization and her pastor to implement a plan to help as many as they can. Kevin Hart launched a fundraising campaign, kicking it off with a $25K to the Red Cross and he’s calling out celebrities by name to do the same. Dwayne Johnson and DJ Khaled responded with their matching $25K donations. Country star Chris Young started a GoFundME to raise money for Harvey victims and he put in $100K of his own money. And Houston Texans star J.J. Watt started his own campaign on YouCaring.com, which has already raised over $1 million, with a goal of raising $1.5 million.
