The 2020 E! People’s Choice Awards were held last night. The winners are literally voted on by the people, who spent weeks voting hundreds, if not thousands of times, for their favorites across several voting platforms. So it should come as no surprise that BTS won everything they were up for — Group of 2020, Song and Video of 2020 for “Dynamite,” and Album of 2020 for “Map of the Soul: 7.” Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga went into the night with the most nominations — 7 each. Justin won Male Artist of 2020 and that’s it. Nothing for Gaga. Ariana Grande won Female Artist, as well as Social Celebrity. Even though there weren’t a lot of movies out this year, “Bad Boys For Life” won Movie of 2020, with Will Smith winning Male Movie Star. Tiffany Haddish won Female Movie Star for “Like a Boss.” In TV, “Grey’s Anatomy” won for overall TV Show. It’s no surprise E!’s “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” won for Reality Show with Khloe winning Reality Star. “The Voice” beat out the competition for Competition Show. And after a VERY rough year, Ellen DeGeneres still came out on top, winning Daytime Talk Show of 2020.

“Emily in Paris” has been a big hit on Netflix, but before it comes back for Season 2, we need to know how to pronounce it correctly. Just like we’re supposed to be putting some French respect on Timothée Chalamet, Netflix tweeted, “Friendly reminder Emily in Paris is supposed to be pronounced with a French accent so ‘Emily’ and ‘Paris’ rhyme.” Mind blown.

Taylor Swift and Paul McCartney interviewed each other for “Rolling Stone,” which was pretty cool. Taylor admits to something she’s only hinted at before. She told Sir Paul, “I wrote under the name Nils Sjöberg because those are two of the most popular names of Swedish males. I wrote this song called ‘This Is What You Came For’ that Rihanna ended up singing. And nobody knew for a while.” Calvin Harris revealed Taylor wrote it after they broke up, but now Taylor is taking ownership of it. Taylor also made a rare comment about her relationship with Joe Alwyn. She said while she can’t control what the press writes about her, she can control her personal life. She said, “I think that in knowing him and being in the relationship I am in now, I have definitely made decisions that have made my life feel more like a real life and less like just a storyline to be commented on in tabloids. Whether that’s deciding where to live, who to hang out with, when to not take a picture — the idea of privacy feels so strange to try to explain, but it’s really just trying to find bits of normalcy…” And of course, Sir Paul brought up the fact that Taylor wrote breakup songs “like they’re going out of style.” And Taylor admitted that was true before her luck changed. She said, “I still write breakup songs. I love a good breakup song. Because somewhere in the world, I always have a friend going through a breakup, and that will make me write one.”

Kobe Bryant’s childhood home in Pennsylvania sold earlier this month for $810K. The basketball hoop he used to practice on as a kid was not included in the sale. That backboard and rim are going up for auction, and it’s expected to fetch six figures. TMZ Sports reports a bunch of Kobe memorabilia collected from the house will also go on the auction block, including a Michael Jordan “Sports Illustrated” signed to Kobe and some Duke basketballs Kobe had when he was being recruited by the Blue Devils.

Remember when Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson broke up back in August and she said, “We’ve been friends for 10 years and we’re going to continue to be friends, so just don’t make it something that it is not.” Well, friends don’t unfollow friends on Instagram, but that’s exactly what Cody just did. It could have something to do with the fact that he’s moved on with his new model girlfriend, Marloes Stevens. And after 10 years together, 7 of which they’ve been engaged, Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis have broken up. It actually happened at the beginning of this year, but they’ve been co-parenting their 6-year-old son Otis and 4-year-old daughter Daisy so beautifully that nobody noticed. And congratulations to Friend of the Show Ryan Cabrera on his engagement to WWE star Alexis Bliss!
