Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa topped the chart with an excellent $32 million… Liam Gallagher’s baby mama fighting for full custody… Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis have a baby on the way… Jay Z defends deal with Barneys after the store is accused of profiling… and Chris Brown jailed on felony assault charge
Johnny Knoxville’s “Bad Grandpa” debuted in first place at the box office this weekend, earning $32 million. And it only cost Paramount $15 million to make, so they are beyond thrilled with those numbers. And “Bad Grandpa” finally knocked “Gravity” out of first place. It took second with $20.3 million. “Captain Phillips” was in third with $11.8 million. And everybody was so completely confused by the ad campaign for “The Counselor,” despite heavy hitters like Brad Pitt, Cameron Diaz, Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz, it debuted in fourth with only $8 million.
The mother of Liam Gallagher’s love child is fighting for full custody of their 10-month-old daughter. But it shouldn’t be too difficult of a battle — Liam’s never even met the child. NY journalist Liza Ghorbani is not only suing for child support, she’s also going to ask a judge to grant Liam only supervised visitation, if and when he ever decides to meet his daughter, Gemma. Liza interviewed the very married Liam back in 2010 and the two of them began a brief affair. A DNA test confirmed he was Gemma’s father.
Olivia Wilde and her fiance Jason Sudeikis are expecting a baby. The two of them first met back in May 2011 during the season finale of “Saturday Night Live.” In January of this year, Olivia’s spokeswoman confirmed they were engaged. And now her rep is confirming that a baby is on the way. Earlier this year, Olivia told “Marie Claire” magazine, “I am not trying to have kids now – there’s no strict plan for anything in my life. What happens, happens.” Well, it happened!!
Jay Z has been under pressure to back out of his collaboration with Barneys New York after the store was accused of racially profiling two young black customers. One young man was detained by police after buying a $350 belt. A young woman was questioned after buying a $2500 purse. A petition popped up on Change.org asking Jay Z to bow out of his holiday collaboration with Barneys, even though some of the proceeds are supposed to go to his charity. Jay Z finally made a statement on Saturday, explaining his silence up until now. He said, “I move and speak based on facts and not emotion. I haven’t made any comments because I am waiting on facts and the outcome of a meeting between community leaders and Barneys. Why am I being demonized, denounced and thrown on the cover of a newspaper for not speaking immediately?” Jay Z is expected to meet with Barneys officials on Tuesday.
Chris Brown and his bodyguard were thrown in jail after getting into a fight with a guy outside the W Hotel in Washington, DC. About 4:30 Sunday morning, this guy says he and his buddy were hanging out at the hotel when they saw 2 women taking a picture with Chris. He says they decided to photo bomb, which ticked Chris off. He claims Chris threw out a homophobic slur and then pummeled him. However, sources in Chris’ camp say what happened was the alleged “victim” was trying to board Chris’ tour bus and Chris was trying to stop him from trespassing. Whatever the case, Chris broke the guy’s nose and Chris is jailed for felony assault. This could put him in violation of his parole for beating up Rihanna and that could send him to jail for up to four years.
