The “Golden Globes” have been under fire after it was discovered a couple weeks ago that they have zero Black voters who pick the winners. Out of the 87 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, there are people of color, but no Black members. As we saw during the broadcast — or IF you saw during the broadcast because ratings were in the toilet — the group said they are working to change this. Since then, one member of the association said they’ve been in touch with the Time’s Up Movement, which was started to end sexual harassment in the workplace as well as gender and racial discrimination. In fact, this member said that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has given a lot of money to Time’s Up, and feels like they’ll have at least 3 or 4 Black members by this time next year. Whoopsie. In a statement, Time’s Up said, “We are not in dialogue with HFPA and adding a few Black members will not fix their many systemic issues.” Oh, and they added, “We have no record of any donations from HFPA to Time’s Up.”

Last month, Mariah Carey’s sister filed a lawsuit against her over things Mariah wrote in her book, The Meaning of Mariah Carey. Now Mariah’s brother has done the same. Morgan Carey — who is 10 years older than Mariah — claims his baby sister’s accusations that he was violent have not only damaged his reputation, it’s cost him money. Morgan claims he was in the middle of negotiations for a film project right when Mariah’s book came out, and he lost out on the gig because of it. Morgan’s lawsuit highlights several passages in the book that make it look like he was violent towards their father, when — Morgan says — the father was the one who was abusive. Mariah also claims Morgan once slammed their mother into a wall. He says that’s not true. And he says that when Mariah disclosed that he was once sent to a children’s psychiatric facility, that was “a betrayal and deep hurtful violation.” According to the legal filings, Morgan “brings this action more in sorrow and disappointment in his sister’s betrayals and malicious falsehoods than in anger at them.” He’s seeking unspecified damages.

It’s finally about to happen, but is anyone as excited as they would’ve been almost a year ago? Andy Cohen interviewed David Schwimmer yesterday about the “Friends” reunion for HBO Max, and Ross — I mean David — said, “Oh, it’s happening. Actually, in a little over a month, I’m heading out to LA…We figured out a way to film it safely, and there’s going to be a portion of it that we film outside because of, you know, for safety protocols.” Last year, it was rumored Ellen DeGeneres was going to host, but then there was the whole fall-out over her being a mean boss. Andy asked if Ellen might host now and he said no. But David later added that he actually doesn’t know who will.

Ever since “Driver’s License” hit the airwaves, Taylor Swift has been one of Olivia Rodrigo’s hugest supporters. She revealed yesterday that Taylor had sent her a package with a handwritten note. Olivia said, “She gave me this ring because she said she wore one just like it when she wrote ‘Red’ and she wanted me to have one like it … and like all of this amazing stuff, she’s like hand-wrapped these gifts.” So it turns out the ring Taylor gifted Olivia is Cathy Waterman’s “Love” ring and it retails for $3200. The one Taylor wore for there “Red” album photoshoot back in 2012 was the diamond-encrusted version, but still! How cool is that! And maybe Taylor’s gift will bring Olivia good luck because “Red” earned Taylor her first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with its lead single, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” “Drivers License” has been number one for 7 straight weeks.

Chris Harrison was on “Good Morning America” today to apologize again for his comments and attitude during a recent interview with former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay. In that interview, Chris asked for compassion for current contestant Rachael Kirconnell, who was being canceled by the “woke” crowd over photos from an “Old South”-themed frat party back in 2018. Chris told Michael Strahan, “I am saddened and shocked at how insensitive I was in that interview with Rachel Lindsay, and I didn’t speak from my heart and that is to say I stand against all forms of racism. I’m sorry to Rachel Lindsay, and I’m sorry to the black community.” He went on to say, “Antebellum parties are not okay, past, present, future. Knowing what that represents is unacceptable.” Chris will not be hosting the “After the Final Rose” telecast, but his future future with the Bachelor franchise beyond that remains uncertain. However, Chris told Michael, “I plan to be back. I want to be back. This interview is not the finish line. There is much more work to be done.” But after the interview, Michael said his conversation with Chris was a “surface response.”
