Chris Pratt Is Engaged To Katherine Schwarzenegger

Weekend box office news… Arie Luyendyk Jr. & Lauren Burnham married… Celebrity Big Brother cast… Maroon 5 will headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show… and Chris Pratt is engaged to Katherine Schwarzenegger

With a surprise box office win, “The Upside” knocked off “Aquaman” at the box office this weekend. Kevin Hart and Bryan Cranston’s new movie earned $19.5 million. Here in the US, “Aquaman” took in another $17 million in its fourth weekend, and passed the $1 billion mark worldwide. It took a lot for “The Upside” to even make it into theaters. It premiered at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival and was going to be distributed by The Weinstein Company, but the Harvey Weinstein scandal hit and the movie was shelved. The movie was bought by another company who recut the movie, taking it from an R-rating to PG-13, and now it’s the number one movie in the country. Coming in third, by the way, was “A Dog’s Way Home” with $11 million.

Arie Luyendyk Jr. was vilified when he dumped Becca Kufrin and proposed to his second choice Lauren Burnham. But you know what? They’re married now and expecting a baby and it’s time for us to start rooting for them. Arie and Lauren were married in Maui on Saturday in front of about 100 of their closest friends and family. Chris Harrison performed the ceremony and Lauren’s grandparents served as the flower girl and ring bearer, which was really sweet. Among the wedding guests were former Bachelor Sean Lowe and his wife Catherine. Arie and Lauren are expecting a baby girl in June.

Despite the fact that Julie Chen is hosting, I may just give “Celebrity Big Brother 2” a chance. Almost all of the 12 houseguests are pretty intriguing. They are “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kandi Burruss; Tamar Braxton, who was fired from “The Real” but is also an R&B singer; Lindsay Lohan’s mom, Dina; Joey Lawrence — WHOA! — a 90s heartthrob who may be most famous for “Blossom” but most recently starred on “Melissa & Joey” with Melissa Joan Hart; Olympic sprinter Lolo Jones; Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte, who’s expecting baby number two with wife Kayla Rae Reid; former football player Ricky Williams, who played for the Saints, the Dolphins and the Ravens; politician Anthony Scaramucci, who served as the White House Director of Communications for ten days; Jonathan Bennett, who starred in “Mean Girls” and the Ariana Grande “Thank U, Next” video; comedian Tom Green, who was married for a minute to Drew Barrymore; WWE star Natalie Eva Marie; and OJ’s houseguest Kato Kaelin! “Celebrity Big Brother 2” premieres on CBS next Monday, January 21.

The NFL has FINALLY confirmed that Maroon 5 will headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show on February 3, with special guests Travis Scott and Big Boi. According to Billboard, Travis only agreed to do the show if the NFL agreed to make a joint donation to the social justice organization Dream Corps. That contribution is reported to be $500K.

Chris Pratt is engaged to Katherine Schwarzenegger! On Friday, Chris was helping Katherine move out of her home in Santa Monica. Where was she moving? Nobody said. But then early this morning, Chris announced on his Instagram that they are officially engaged! He posted a sweet picture of them snuggling and her looking down at her ring. Chris captioned it, “Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I’m thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go!” Chris and Katherine were introduced by her mom, Maria Shriver, and they’ve been dating since June of last year. Chris was so smitten that sources say he was turning down work to spend more time with her. This will be Katherine’s first marriage and Chris’ second. He was married to Anna Faris for 9 years and they have a 6-year-old son named Jack.
