It was the lowest Thanksgiving box office is modern history. In what is typically a box-office shattering holiday weekend, “The Croods: A New Age” was number one at the box office, earning just under $10M over the the weekend and a little over $14M since Wednesday. But that still beat out what studios were expecting, so they’re happy. In any other year, “The Croods” sequel would’ve opened in more than 4000 theaters across the country. But this is 2020. Theaters in NY and LA are completely shut down, and of the 2200 theaters that are open for business, they’re operating at greatly reduced capacity. However, those who did grab the kids and got out of the house loved “The Croods: A New Age,” giving it an “A” CinemaScore. It features the recognizable voices of Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone and Ryan Reynolds.

At the beginning of the year, Rebel Wilson publicly proclaimed that this would be her “Year of Health.” After completely changing her diet to include more chicken and fish, after forgiving herself for random cheat days, and after one final push at a luxury spa to lose those last 4.5 pounds, Rebel has reached her goal weight of 165 pounds! She announced the news on her Instagram Story yesterday, saying, “Hit my goal weight with one month to spare! Even though it’s not about a weight number, it’s about being healthy, I needed a tangible measurement to have as a goal and that was 75kg’s.” Rebel said she’ll go IG Live tomorrow night because she has a lot to share with all her followers. Will she be announcing an engagement along with the weight loss? She’s been dating Anheuser-Busch heir Jacob Busch for about a year. She’s 40 and he’s 29.

Laverne Cox says she’s okay, but she and her male friend were the victims of a transphobic attack over the weekend. Laverne went Instagram Live Saturday, sharing that she and her friend were walking through Griffith Park in LA when a man “very aggressively” asked her friend for the time. He told the man who then asked, “Guy or girl?” referring to Laverne. That’s when her friend told the guy to “BLANK” off and the man started wailing on him! Laverne pulled out her phone to call 911, but the guy took off so she didn’t make the call. She explained to her followers, “This dude was looking for trouble … because I happened to be a trans person in public…This isn’t shocking to me – obviously, this is my life. I’ve dealt with this a lot, but it never fails to be shocking…”

Jake Paul talked a lot of smack leading up to his boxing match against former NBA player Nate Robison Saturday night. It turns out, he could back it up. Jake completely dominated Nate, landing a total of 8 punches and violently knocking him out in the second round.
