Demi Lovato Is 90 Days Sober

Weekend box office news… Johnny Depp gets the boot… Priyanka Chopra’s wedding shower… Khloe Kardashian & Tristan Thompson update… and Demi Lovato is 90 days sober

The direct sequel to “Halloween” earned another $32 million this weekend to take first place for a second week. “A Star Is Born” landed in second place for the fourth week in a row with another $14 million. “Venom” was third with $10.8 million.

Unless he chooses to dress up like Jack Sparrow to visit patients at children’s hospitals, Johnny Depp’s days of playing that character are over. Disney Studios is planning to reboot the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, minus Johnny. His last appearance in 2017’s “Dead Men Tell No Tales” was the lowest performing of the five movies. Disney reportedly has met with the guys who wrote “Deadpool” to write the script for the reboot.

Priyanka Chopra must really have a thing for Tiffany’s. First, her engagement ring came from Tiffany’s. Nick Jonas reportedly had the whole store shut down so he could pick out the perfect ring in private. And last night, Priyanka’s wedding shower was held at Tiffany’s Blue Box Cafe in NYC. Among the guests were Kelly Ripa, Lupita Nyong’o and Kevin Jonas — ??? Yes, he was there with his wife, Danielle, and their daughter Alena. And guests all left the shower with a Tiffany’s bag that included a bottle of champagne and a wrapped gift, which we’re sure came from Tiffany’s! Priyanka and Nick are rumored to be getting married in India in December.

Whether or not Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson are going to make it is debatable, but for now, at least, they’re keeping up appearances. When Khloe returned home from Bali on Saturday — and that would be her home in Calabasas and not in Cleveland — Tristan had gigantic “Welcome Home” balloons waiting for her. Khloe shared the picture on her Instagram, captioning it, “Thank you baby” with a pink heart emoji. Tristan wasn’t able to make the trip to Bali with Khloe and her family because he’s busy playing basketball for the Cavaliers, and Khloe was able to go on the trip to Bali because she’s not living in Cleveland with Tristan……

Demi Lovato’s mom was on Maria Menounos’ podcast and gave an update on how Demi is doing. It’s hard to believe it’s been 3 months since Demi almost died from an overdose, but Dianna De La Garza said her daughter is now 90 days sober. Dianna said, “I couldn’t be more thankful or more proud of her, because addiction, being a disease, it is work. It’s very hard, it’s not easy, and there are no shortcuts.” When Maria asked Dianna what caused Demi to relapse, Dianna said it could’ve been from any number of reasons. She said, “We lost five close members of our family in one year … (but) you couldn’t say because we lost five people in our family that caused a relapse. I don’t think it was a particular incident.” Dianna also said it may have been that she was just around the wrong people. She said, “When you’re young and sometimes you think, maybe I can go do this and it won’t affect me, but with an addiction you just can’t do that. It’s a slippery slope.”
