Facebook is offering select users up to $120 to deactivate their accounts at the end of this month, and then remain signed off until after the November elections. This is part of a study to see if social media truly impacts voting. A Facebook spokesperson said, “Anyone who chooses to opt-in – whether it’s completing surveys or deactivating FB or IG for a period of time – will be compensated.” And they expect anywhere from 200K to 400K users to take part. Last week, Mark Zuckerberg said he will ban any new political ads the week before election day, which falls on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

“Wheel of Fortune” returns for its 38th season next week, and you’ll notice a few changes due to the new COVID-19 safety procedures. In addition to everybody in front of and behind the cameras going through rigorous testing, the set has been redesigned. The platform around the wheel has been adjusted so Pat Sajak and the three contestants are all standing 6 feet apart, and there’s a new curved monitor around the wheel. Players will also be given their own “spinning cap,” which is basically a small cloth pocket they have to put around a prong on the wheel so they can spin it without actually touching it.

Chrissy Teigen is pregnant with her third child and just revealed that she is on “official 2 week bed rest.” She didn’t reveal why the doctor ordered her to bed, but she said she is going to use the time wisely. She plans on learning how to sew capes and kids’ clothes. Chrissy has been having a rough time since the beginning of this pregnancy. First, she didn’t realize she was pregnant when she underwent breast reduction surgery, so she was really freaked out about being under anesthesia during the early stages of her pregnancy. And then she recently revealed she’d been cleared to have Botox injections to relieve her pregnancy headaches.

In a whole bunch of casting news, Halsey is producing and starring in a new show called “The Player’s Table,” which involves a secret society and murder. No network is attached to this project yet. Snoop Dogg and Rosario Dawson will be judges on a new TBS talent show called “Go-Big Show” which will feature over-the-top talents like alligator training and monster truck driving. Look for that in 2021. And AMC announced that “The Walking Dead” will end after a drawn-out 11th season. Instead of the usual 16 episodes, the final season will have 24, which will stretch out over two years, ending in 2022. But several spinoffs are in the works, including one that follows Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride’s characters, Daryl and Carol. That one should launch in 2023.

After only two seasons, Denise Richards has had enough, and she is leaving “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” This has been a rough season for Denise, with Brandi Glanville claiming to have slept with Denise behind her new husband’s back, which Denise vehemently denies. It’s interesting to note that Denise and newcomer Garcelle Beauvais made a pact. Each promised the other, “If you don’t come back, I don’t come back.” So now we’re waiting to see if Garcelle is going to stick to that promise.
