If Baby Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi weren’t enough to get you to sign up for Disney+, will any of this do it? Disney+ announced they’re doing a series that follows a group of young, aspiring filmmakers who try to remake “The Goonies” on a shoe-string budget. They also announced that their live-action remake of “Pinocchio” starring Tom Hanks as Geppetto will drop on Sept. 8. Disney+ is also giving us a new original series called “The Santa Clauses,” based on the movie “The Santa Clause.” Tim Allen and Elizabeth Mitchell are back as Santa and Mrs. Clause. The series will be about Tim’s character wanting to retire from the Santa Clause gig and having to find the perfect person to take on this huge role. Kal Penn is also in the cast. He will play a single father who is also an ambitious game inventor and product developer. We don’t have a release date just yet, but it should be out for the holiday season.

This is COMPLETELY random. Do you remember Anthony Weiner? He’s the NY politician who got caught sexting minors and sending lots of shirtless selfies. At the time all this was happening, he was married to Hillary Clinton’s right hand woman Huma Abedin, who stood by her man for as long as she could. They have since divorced. Well, guess who Huma is dating???? Bradley Freaking Cooper! Reportedly, they were introduced by Anna Wintour. Bradley had most recently been seeing Dianna Agron from “Glee” but he reportedly broke up with her and moved right on to Huma. A source said the two of them arrived together at the Met Gala on May 2 and then split up to walk the red carpet.

The Emmy nominations are out. HBO’s “Succession” leads with 25 nods. Apple’s “Ted Lasso” and HBO’s “The White Lotus” are tied for second with 20 nominations each. Overall, HBO/HBO Max lead with 140 nominations, followed by Netflix with 105. What gets people most riled up about any awards ceremonies are the snubs. While “Stranger Things” was nominated for Best Drama Series, no actors were recognized. And while Steve Martin and Martin Short were nominated in the acting category for “Only Murders in the Building,” their costar Selena Gomez was not. However, she did become only the second Latina to get a producing nominations for Outstanding Comedy Series. The final seasons of “Black-ish” and “This Is Us” were completely shut out, and “Yellowstone” also got a big fat nothing. If you want to see who DOES win, you can watch the Emmys live on NBC and Peacock on Sept. 19.

Britney Spears’ first husband Jason Alexander broke into her home on her wedding day to try to talk some sense into her. He was arrested on trespassing charges, vandalism and battery, although it looks like security whooped him harder than Jason swung at them. Jason has been sitting in jail ever since, unable to post that $100K bond. Yesterday, he appeared by Zoom to plead not guilty to all charges. His next hearing is a pre-trial conference on Aug. 2. When this finally goest to trial, Jason faces up to five years in prison, if he’s convicted.

Doja Cat DM’d Noah Schnapp and asked him to hook her up with his “Stranger Things” co-start Joseph Quinn. Noah responded, “LMAOO slide into his dms” and Doja said she didn’t know his IG or Twitter. That’s when Noah provided her with that information. But Noah thought this was a hilarious exchange, so he posted it on his TikTok, and Doja lost her cool. She posted an IG Live — because she couldn’t figure out how to do a 3-minute TikTok — and went off on Noah. Doja said she didn’t want her fans to go after him because he’s “just a kid,” but for Noah to share their private conversation was “so unbelievably socially unaware and whack. That’s like borderline snake s***. That’s like weasel s***.” Right after that, Doja Cat lost 200K IG followers, while Noah gained a million!!
