Jay Pharoah and Taran Killam leave SNL… Tim Tebow wants to transition to baseball… Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg’s new show… Lady Gaga moves on… and Dwayne Johnson slams male ‘Fast 8’ costars
Jay Pharoah and Taran Killam won’t be back for Saturday Night Live’s 42nd season. Each of them had been with the show for six seasons. According to Taran, it doesn’t look like it was their decision. He told Uproxx, “You sign for seven years, so I had one more year. I sort of had it in my head I would make this upcoming year my last year, but then heard they weren’t going to pick up my contract. I was never given a reason why, really.”
Tim Tebow is shifting gears. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Tim wants to transition from football to baseball. He said, “Tim spent the last nine months honing his baseball skills, honing his outfield abilities … He truly wants to pursue a career in baseball right now.” Tim did play baseball in high school. In fact, he was an All-State player and his team made it to the semifinals of the Florida state tournament. He reportedly will hold a workout for all MLB teams later this month.
Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg are teaming up for a cooking show called “Martha and Snoop Dogg’s Dinner Party.” This is GENIUS. It will debut on VH1 sometime this fall. Martha and Snoop really have great chemistry. They both did Justin Bieber’s Comedy Central roast and they went head-to-head on the new “$100,000 Pyramid.” Snoop also popped up on Martha’s show a few times. For their new show, they’ll invite their celebrity friends over for a “half-baked evening of cocktails, cooking and conversation, where nothing is off limits.”
Lady Gaga recently ended her engagement to Taylor Kinney — or did he end it with her? Who knows….But is she ready to move on…………with Ray Liotta?? According to Page Six, they were spotted having dinner together in a private room at L’Artusi in NYC. According to an eyewitness, the two of them left the table a couple of times to go smoke and they seemed like they knew each other very well. But according to one of their reps, this wasn’t a date. Ray is friends with Gaga and her dad. And a couple years ago, the two of them starred in “Sin City: A Dame To Kill For.”
Yesterday, Dwayne Johnson went off on Instagram, calling out some of his male co-stars on “Fast 8.” He started off my complimenting his “always amazing” female co-stars, but then said, “My male co-stars however are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand up men and try professionals, while others don’t.” He then said they were “too chicken s*** to do anything about it” and called them “candy a**es.” Dwayne looked on the bright side, though. He said his blood was literally boiling in some scenes so he didn’t even have to act! It’s up to us to guess who got him so fired up. His male cast members include Scott Eastwood, Jason Statham, Kurt Russell, Vin Diesel, and Tyrese Gibson.
This is my final week of shooting #FastAndFurious8. There's no other franchise that gets my blood boiling more than this one. An incredible hard working crew. UNIVERSAL has been great partners as well. My female co-stars are always amazing and I love 'em. My male co-stars however are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don't. The ones that don't are too chicken shit to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses. When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I'm not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling – you're right. Bottom line is it'll play great for the movie and fits this Hobbs character that's embedded in my DNA extremely well. The producer in me is happy about this part😉. Final week on FAST 8 and I'll finish strong. #IcemanCometh #F8 #ZeroToleranceForCandyAsses
