Ed Sheeran Lost ‘A Bunch Of Friends’

“The Tonight Show” is about to change… Josh Gad explains his “Beauty and the Beast” character… Casper Smart wants to be an action movie star… Jason Derulo’s BIG business expense… and Ed Sheeran lost ‘a bunch of friends’

Jimmy Fallon was criticized for being too nice to Donald Trump, but that may be about to change. A source told Page Six that Jimmy is changing his strategy and will make “The Tonight Show” more political after losing to “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” for the fifth straight week in overall viewers. The source says Jimmy isn’t comfortable talking about politics, but that’s what people want. Well, almost everybody. Jimmy still wins with the 18 to 49 age demographic, which is more important to advertisers than the overall viewership numbers. But Jimmy doesn’t like being beaten in ANY category, so he’s going to tweak things.

After it was revealed that Disney will feature its first openly gay character in “Beauty and the Beast,” there was backlash from some parents. Some Christian groups are boycotting. One theater in Alabama is refusing to show the movie. But Josh Gad — who plays the gay character LeFou — says people are afraid of what they don’t understand. He explained that his character “LeFou is somebody who on one day wants to be Gaston and on another day wants to kiss Gaston. He’s confused about what he wants. It’s somebody who’s just realizing that he has these feelings.” And at the end of the movie, LeFou dances with another man and Josh says the moment is “subtle, but incredibly effective.” And he said that the movie’s overall message is one of inclusiveness.

TMZ Sports says Casper Smart has been putting a lot of hours on the MMA mat. But he’s not just working out his frustrations over losing Jennifer Lopez. Casper says he wants to be an action movie star! Why not?? Casper started taking his MMA training very seriously after starring in the combat themed movie “Street” a couple years ago. Um, yeah…..we missed that one, too. But according to IMDB, “Street” is about a young fighter who has to choose between an honorable fighting career or becoming a cage fighter for the Russian mafia.

Jason Derulo held a single release party at the Ace of Diamonds strip club Monday. He spent more than $50K on bottle service and tipped the dancers about $20K. But apparently, he gets to write it all off as a business expense!

Ed Sheeran told “Rolling Stone” that “Forbes” basically ruined a lot of friendships for him. The magazine published that Ed earned $57 million in 2015, and that’s when it all went downhill. Ed said, “I was getting texts from people with pictures of cars going, ‘I’d like this for my birthday, please. This one’s only .06 percent of your annual income.’” He said he ultimately gave up his cell phone, using an iPad and working off of email. He says it’s so much less stressful because he doesn’t “wake up in the morning and have to answer 50 messages of people asking for something.” But he does keep a flip phone for close family and emergencies only.
