Netflix has just dropped the trailer for its most expensive move ever — “The Gray Man.” Ryan Gosling stars as Court Genry — aka Sierra Six — a top black-ops CIA agent who discovers some damaging agency secrets and goes on the run. Chris Evans plays another CIA agent named Lloyd Hansen who leads the global manhunt to find him. Netflix basically opened up its checkbook and asked, “How much?” And they wrote that check for a record-setting $200M. “The Gray Man” premieres in select theaters on July 15 and begins streaming on Netflix July 22.

Justin Timberlake has sold the rights of his song catalog to Hipgnosis Songs Capital — a British firm backed by private equity firm Blackstone. His deal is reportedly valued at more than $100M. The agreement does NOT include Justin’s future music. Justin is the latest artist to sell the rights to their songs for a huge amount of money. Back in October, Tina Turner sold her music catalog to BMG for about $50M. And then in December, Bruce Springsteen sold his catalog to Sony for $550 million!!

Britney Spears’ rockstar attorney Mathew Rosengart has filed a motion encouraging Britney’s dad Jamie to “do what is right” and “voluntarily” sit down for a deposition regarding how he handled his daughter’s conservatorship. Despite saying he has nothing to hide, Rosengart says that’s exactly what Jamie has been doing — running and hiding! In the filing, Rosengart states, “Since childhood and certainly over the past decade, Britney Spears has been forced to live under her father’s thumb, even as she gave him an identity and supported him financially; yet he has never been required to answer for his conduct, including his gross, self-interested misuse of his fiduciary position.” Rosengart said he’s willing to meet with Jamie wherever he wants to get this thing done, “We hope he accepts and does what is right, both legally and morally.”

It was a busy day in court yesterday as the Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard trial is coming close to an end. Johnny testified that he did not try to get Amber fired from “Aquaman.” But Johnny had vouched for Amber to have that role and after all the false allegations she was making against him, Johnny just wanted to let the studio know what kind of person they were dealing with and the potential fallout from the bad press. Also, a former employee for TMZ testified about how the agency received the video of Johnny slamming kitchen cabinets and how they were tipped off about Amber filing a restraining order against Johnny. He testified that paparazzi were sent to the courthouse and “their objective was to capture (Amber) leaving the courthouse and then she was going to sort of stop, and turn toward the camera to display the bruise on the right side of her face.” Closing arguments are expected to begin Friday.

After 19 seasons, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” ends today. Her final guests include P!nk, Billie Eilish and Jennifer Aniston, who was Ellen’s very first guest back in back in 2003. The Hollywood Reporter sat down with Ellen to talk about the end of this chapter. Ellen said she’s going to follow the advice Oprah gave her and take at least a year off. In a couple weeks, Ellen said she’s going to Rwanda to celebrate the opening of her 12-acre science and education campus, which focuses on saving wild mountain gorillas. Ellen is also under contract to deliver another standup special for Netflix, but I guess it’ll be more than a year before we get that. The Hollywood Reporter also asked Ellen what she’ll miss the most about doing her talk show. She said, “Well, once in a while, they’d bring a soft-serve ice cream truck on the lot. That was nice.” And the one thing she took from the set was the old phone she used to call people like Gladys on. She now has it sitting on a table in her living room.
