Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and Marc plead guilty… Mariah Carey is being sued… David Harbour’s tweet backfired… Did Cardi B just sign a movie deal?… and Ellen Pompeo is the highest-paid actress in primetime television
Going to jail could really mess things up for his TV comeback. MTV is doing a Jersey Shore reunion show called “Family Vacation” down in Miami, but will The Situation be part of it? Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and his brother Marc have decided to avoid going to trial and plead guilty, instead, to charges of tax fraud. The brothers are accused of not paying all federal income tax owed on almost $9 million earned between 2010-2012. They tried to hide their cash by depositing money into several different bank accounts, but the IRS figured out what was happening and they were busted. Now Mike could get up to 15 years in prison when he goes to court to face the judge tomorrow.
In 2016 Mariah Carey canceled some concerts in South America, tweeting, “Devastated my shows in Chile, Argentina & Brazil had to be canceled. My fans deserve better than some of these promoters treated them.” But the concert promoters are saying, Hold up, Mariah! You canceled on us at the last minute without giving any excuse, and now you’re making US look like the bad guys? No. So they are suing her for at least $2 million in damages, saying the statement she put out was “knowingly false and defamatory” and caused irreparable damage to their reputation with concertgoers and musical artists. They also want at least $500K in damages for those canceled concerts.
On Monday, this woman named Erica sent a tweet to David Harbour, who plays Chief Hopper on “Stranger Things,” asking what it would take for him to officiate her wedding in September. On Tuesday, David responded, “125k retweets. Provided date works with s3 shooting schedule, I will get ordained and perform ceremony. I get to read an esteemed love letter of my choosing, and after the cake is officially cut, I get the very first piece. #allthecakes.” By Wednesday, David tweeted “Dammit. Not even 24 hours. @ErikaElizabth DM me please to get the ball rolling. I’m making it seriously hard next time, internet, this is not over between us…”

Except for her fiancé cheating on her, things are going exceptionally well for Cardi B. She recently became the first woman with five top 10 hits on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart in a single week. Beyonce held the previous record with four. And now TMZ is reporting that Cardi B just signed her first MOVIE DEAL! They don’t have any details other than filming begins in March.
Ellen Pompeo has negotiated a $20 million paycheck, which will make her the highest-paid actress in primetime television. She talks very openly about the fight to get her money with The Hollywood Reporter. For the longest time, it was really about confidence, and she credited show creator Shonda Rhimes for helping her find her voice. She said, “You never want to (be perceived as) too greedy. Or maybe it’s just that as women, that’s our problem. A guy wouldn’t have any problem asking for $600,000 an episode.” Ellen also talked about her “tumultuous” relationship with Patrick Dempsey, who played Derek Shepherd until they killed him off in a car crash in season 11. Ellen says they actually used him as leverage against her when it came to salary negotiations, telling her, “We don’t need you; we have Patrick.” She said they did that for YEARS. And when she reached out to Patrick about joining together to negotiate, she said he was never interested. But now that Patrick’s long gone, ABC realized they can’t do “Grey’s Anatomy” without Meredith Grey, so she started making her demands and they started giving in.
