Felicity Huffman’s 14-Day Sentence Is ‘Bad News’ For Lori Loughlin

Hustlers rustles up $33M debut… BTS is back… Demi Lovato and Mike Johnson are ‘having fun’… Beyonce lost at the Emmys… and Felicity Huffman’s 14-day sentence is ‘bad news’ for Lori Loughlin

Constance Wu may have top billing, but everybody knows this is Jennifer Lopez’s movie! While “Hustlers” didn’t open in first, everybody involved with the film is thrilled with the numbers. Yeah, “It: Chapter Two” was still number one in its second week with $40.7M….but “Hustlers” debuted with a strong $33.2M, making it the best live-action opening of JLo’s career! But the big bomb of the weekend was a movie about a boy surviving a terrorist bombing. “The Goldfinch” starring Ansel Elgort, Nicole Kidman and Sarah Paulson cost a reported $45M to produce, but only earned $2.6M for an eighth place finish.

BTS is back, all right! The boys of BTS are done with their much-needed, well-deserved “period of rest,” and they are hitting the ground running today. They were spotted at an airport and almost instantaneously #BTSisBack started trending worldwide. They’ve got a few more stops on their “Love Yourself: Speak Yourself” tour, which wraps up with 3 shows Oct. 26, 27 and 29 in Seoul, South Korea. And they will most likely show up for the E! People’s Choice Awards on Nov. 10. BTS is nominated for 3 awards — Best Group of 2019, Best Music Video of 2019, and Best Concert Tour of 2019.

All that online flirting is finally coming to fruition. A source told E! News that Demi Lovato and Mike Johnson finally went on an actual date. The source said, “They did go on a date and it’s been going well. They seem to have a lot in common and are just enjoying getting to know each other.” So for now, they’re taking things slowly. Demi will keep posting unedited bikini shots and Mike will keep liking and leaving flirty comments.

The Beyhive has been poked. They are accusing the Emmys of racism after Beyoncé was shut out of the Creative Arts Emmy Awards this weekend. “Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé” was nominated for six awards, but lost Best Variety Special to “Carpool Karaoke: When Corden Met McCartney.” It lost Best Directing to “Springsteen on Broadway.” It lost to “Nanette” for Best Writing. It lost Best Production Design to the live production of “Rent.” It lost Best Music Direction to “FX’s Fosse/Verdon,” and Best Costumes went to “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” As one fan tweeted, “It’s deeper than Beyoncé winning/losing at the #Emmys it’s just broadcast no matter how much blood, sweat, & tears Black Woman put into their craft..they still will be snubbed to their white counterparts!”

Felicity Huffman will serve 14 days in prison for paying someone $15K to improve her daughter’s SAT scores, which has Lori Laughlin shaking in her Louboutins because she and her husband are charged with paying half a million dollars to get their daughters into USC! Felicity chose to plead guilty, hoping to get a lighter sentence. But Lori and her husband Mossimo have pleaded not guilty, and they’re going to fight this out till the bitter end. But John Legend has a lot of feelings about what happened to Felicity, and he got it all out of his system on Twitter. He wrote, “I get why everyone gets mad when rich person X gets a short sentence and poor person of color Y gets a long one. The answer isn’t for X to get more; it’s for both of them to get less (or even none!!!) We should level down not up….And no one in our nation will benefit from the 14 days an actress will serve for cheating in college admissions. We don’t need to lock people up for any of this stuff…There are other ways to hold people accountable than the state paying 10s of thousands a year to hold them in a secure facility.”
