Memorial Day Weekend 2019. The box office totals were around $230M over the four-day weekend. “Aladdin” starring Will Smith debuted at number one, taking in just under $113M. The numbers are nowhere near that, but movie studios are still ecstatic over the first post-pandemic Memorial Day box office. “A Quiet Place II” had a 3-day gross of just over $47M. We’re waiting for the final numbers from Memorial Day, but experts are projecting that the 4-day earnings will be around $57M. Coming in second was “Cruella,” which was also available on Disney+ Premier Access for $30. We don’t know the streaming numbers, but the four-day projections for the “Cruella” box office numbers are at $26.5M.

Laugh all you want, but Jake Paul is getting PAID. Sportico says Jake has earned around $20M over the past 12 months — that’s from two boxing matches and all his endorsements — making him the third highest-paid boxer behind Anthony Joshua and Canelo Alvarez. As far as the top earning sports stars over the past 12 months, Sportico says the top spot belongs to Conor McGregor with $208M, followed by Cristiano Ronaldo with $126M and Lionel Messi with $120M. Dak Prescott is fourth with $108.4M and LeBron James rounds out the top five with $101.8M.

Miles Teller and his wife Keleigh enjoyed a lovely time in Hawaii with newly engaged Aaron Rodgers and Shailene Woodley. But it looks like their joint vacation came to an end, which is too bad for Miles because he got jumped in the bathroom at a restaurant in Maui! When the story first came out, we heard that Miles was punched by his former wedding planner who claimed Miles still owed him $60K from his 2019 wedding in Hawaii. But Miles later tweeted, “I got jumped by two guys in a bathroom. Never met them before in my life …” And his wife Keleigh added, “The story reported about Miles being punched in the face by @TMZ over ‘MONEY’ is completely false. Miles was jumped by 2 men we have never met after they trapped him in a bathroom…It seems these same men have done this to many people and we appreciate your support Maui. This is now a criminal investigation.” In happier news for Miles, he’s been cast to replace Armie Hammer in a new series called “The Offer” on Paramount+. This movie is about the producer who made “The Godfather” movie back in the 70s.

Things seemed to be going fine in Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler’s divorce…until now. TMZ has learned that Jay wants half of Kristin’s company, Uncommon James. Their source says Jay believes he should get 50 percent ownership of the brand because it was launched during their marriage. But Kristin is arguing that Jay never put any money into launching Uncommon James so he doesn’t deserve any part of it.

A lot of people have been commenting on Matthew Perry’s appearance and his slurred speech during “Friends: The Reunion.” But director Ben Winston wants all that talk to stop. He told The Hollywood Reporter, “People can sometimes just be unkind. I wish they weren’t. I loved working with him.” Ben said Matthew is a “brilliantly funny man” who had some great one-liners during the show. According to The Sun, members of Matthew’s team claim he had to have emergency dental work done the day of filming, which would explain his slurred speech.
