The Eagles’ Glenn Frey dead at 67

N.W.A. will reunite… Sting and Peter Gabriel co-headlining tour this summer… Janet Hubert bashes Jada Pinkett Smith… Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth back together… and Glenn Frey passed away at 67

According to Ice Cube, N.W.A. will reunite to perform at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony being held in Brooklyn on April 8. N.W.A. has been nominated four times and finally made it. The Hall of Fame reunion will come almost a year after Ice Cube, MC Ren and DJ Yella got together to perform at the BET Experience. Dr. Dre wasn’t there for that one, but when Seth Meyers asked Ice Cube about the Hall of Fame ceremony, he said he’d talked to Dre and said, “Yeah, we’re going to get down.” Ice Cube is also playing Coachella in April and said we can expect some famous friends to pop up during his shows.

Sting and Peter Gabriel are going on a 19-city co-headlining tour this summer. They’re calling it the Rock, Paper, Scissors tour, joking that this is how they’ll make all their decisions regarding the tour. They’ll be playing a mix of arenas and amphitheaters and Sting says they’ll be trading songs, trading musicians and singing together. This is going to be AWESOME. The tour kicks off June 21 in Columbus, Ohio, and finishes up in Canada on July 24. More details about the tour will be announced later today.

After no black actors or actresses were nominated for Oscars this year, Jada Pinkett Smith and Spike Lee say they are boycotting the show and they’re asking other black thespians to do the same. When you add that her husband Will Smith was snubbed for “Concussion,” Jada is even more upset. She went on her Facebook page and posted a video to Oscars host Chris Rock that said, “Chris, I will not be at the Academy Awards, and I won’t be watching, but I can’t think of a better man to do the job at hand this year than you, my friend. Good luck.” There has been mounting pressure for Chris to pull out as host, but sources say that’s not going to happen. One source told Naughty Gossip that Chris believes he will have a bigger impact by doing the show. Meantime, Will’s former Aunt Viv from “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” — Janet Hubert — posted her own video to Jada, saying, “First of all, Miss Thing, does your man not have a mouth of his own with which to speak?” She continued, “There’s a lot of (BLANK) going on in the world that you all don’t seem to recognize. People are dying. Our boys are being shot left and right. People are starving. People are trying to pay bills. And you’re talking about some (BLANKING) actors and Oscars. It just ain’t that deep.”

Miley Cyrus wants us all to know that she and Liam Hemsworth are back on. She’s posting Instagram pictures with her engagement ring on full display. The couple called off their engagement in 2013, but they were back together over the holidays in Australia. And now sources are saying she’s not just wearing the ring again…they’re living together, too! Miley and her four dogs moved back into Liam’s home in Malibu last week.

The Eagles announced on their official website yesterday that Glenn Frey passed away yesterday at the age of 67. The statement said, “Glenn fought a courageous battle for the past several weeks but, sadly, succumbed to complications from rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis and pneumonia.” Don Henley released a statement saying, “We were family, and like most families, there was some dysfunction. But, the bond we forged 45 years ago was never broken, even during the 14 years that the Eagles were dissolved. We were two young men who made the pilgrimage to Los Angeles with the same dream.” Don also said, “I’m not sure I believe in fate, but I know that crossing paths with Glenn Lewis Frey in 1970 changed my life forever, and it eventually had an impact on the lives of millions of other people all over the planet. It will be very strange going forward in a world without him in it.  But, I will be grateful, every day, that he was in my life. Rest in peace, my brother. You did what you set out to do, and then some.”
