Renewed TV shows… College admissions scandal update… Kim Kardashian helped free 17 inmates… Chance The Rapper’s movement… and Highlights of the Met Gala 2019
The major networks are in the process of renewing and canceling shows. Will you be excited or heartbroken? After saving it from Fox’s cancellation, NBC has renewed “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.” Also coming back are a whole slew of shows — “Manifest,” “The Blacklist,” “Ellen’s Game of Games,” “The Good Place,” “Law & Order: SVU,” “New Amsterdam,” “Superstore,” “Will & Grace,” “Good Girls” and all the Chicagos — “Fire,” “Med,” and “P.D.” NBC dropped the axe on “Marlon,” “Midnight, Texas,” “Reverie,” and “Trial & Error.” And while they haven’t announced it, we know “This Is Us” will be back. CBS is bringing back the “Criminal Minds” for what will be its final season. Also announced as renewed are “FBI,” “God Friended Me,” “Magnum P.I.,” “Mom,” “The Neighborhood,” “Young Sheldon,” “Blue Bloods” and all the three NCIS series. Bye-bye to “Salvation,” but that’s the only announcement for show cancellations s so far. How did “The Conners” do without Roseanne? Well enough for ABC to bring it back! Also returning are “A Million Little Things,” “The Good Doctor,” “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” the final season of “Modern Family“ and “black-ish.” And ABC is doing a spin-off of that show called “Mixed-ish,” which will be set in the 1980s and star a young version of Tracee Ellis Ross’ character, Rainbow Johnson. The only series officially canceled by ABC so far is “Take Two.” And FOX has renewed “The Masked Singer,” “9-1-1,” “Bob’s Burgers,” “Empire,” “Family Guy,” “Last Man Standing,” “The Resident,” and “The Simpsons” for Seasons 31 and 32! Gone are “Gotham,” “The Gifted” and “Rel.”

Lori Laughlin’s attorneys are doing a little happy dance. What was posted all over campus at USC this weekend? Posters asking for students to try out for the women’s crew team….”No experience? No problem.” Lori and Mossimo are accused of paying $500K to get their daughters into USC based on the lie that they could row a boat. But something like this poster is exactly what their lawyers can use in their defense. The only thing is, you have to already be a student to try out for the team, so maybe they’ll say those staged photos the took of their daughters were to show their enthusiasm for the sport? And the prosecutors have to prove that Lori and Mossimo had criminal intent. Is ignorance a defense? Their attorneys will try anything and everything they can to keep their clients out of prison.

On Saturday, Chance the Rapper tweeted, “Positive Affirmations for today: I WILL have a good day, I Will succeed today, Wendy’s WILL bring back spicy nuggets at some point please please Lord let it be today.” Wendy’s saw it and responded, “It won’t be today, but there’s always a chance.” Get it? But then Wendy’s had an idea. They said, if the tweet they were tweeting right then and there received 2 million likes, they’d bring back those spicy nugs. It happened in less than 12 hours! Wendy’s tweeted that they’ll keep their promise and bring the spicy nuggets back soon, they just don’t know when yet.

But other celebrities did go all out for the gala’s theme, “Camp: Notes on Fashion.” Lady Gaga showed us four looks, stripping off layer after layer until she was standing there in her bra and panties. Janelle Monae’s bra BLINKED, people! Billy Porter was carried onto the pink carpet by six shirtless men wearing gold lamé pants and Billy’s outfit had WINGS! Jared Leto wore a dress and carried his own freaking DECAPITATED HEAD! Katy Perry wasn’t swinging from the chandelier, she WORE the chandelier! Cardi B wore $250K rubies as NIPPLE COVERS! Meantime, Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes didn’t arrive together, but they made their public debut as a couple inside the gala as they posed for photographers!
