Listen to “Showbiz – May 1, 2024” on Spreaker.

After almost 10 years as senior meteorologist for Good Morning America, Rob Marciano is out. According to sources, Rob was banned from the studio in March of last year after his anger issues led to “a number of alarming events.” Multiple staffers reportedly made complaints about his behavior over the years, but things apparently got worse after Rob went through an ugly divorce. Apparently, things never got better, so Rob has been fired. His final report for ABC was April 28.

NBC has hired Kevin Hart and Kenan Thompson for an 8-episode series covering Olympic highlights. Look for it on Peacock this summer. The series will roll out with a couple of episodes each week starting on July 26, which is the date of the Opening Ceremony in Paris. According to Peacock, Kenan and Kev will serve as our hilarious guides through the Paris Olympics, covering a mix of Olympic-themed in-studio competitions, conversations, and interviews.

According to Jerry Seinfeld, people who are easily offended have led to a lack of comedies on TV. Did you know that no new sitcoms were picked up this fall season? Jerry told The New Yorker, “It used to be, you would go home at the end of the day, most people would go, ‘Oh, Cheers is on. Oh, M*A*S*H is on. Oh, Mary Tyler Moore is on. All in the Family is on.’ You just expected, there’ll be some funny stuff we can watch on TV tonight. Well, guess what — where is it? This is the result of the extreme left and P.C. crap, and people worrying so much about offending other people.” Jerry said he thinks networks just aren’t smart enough to figure out how to bridge the gap between comedy and political correctness. In fact, Jerry said they wouldn’t be able to do some of the joke that made it into Seinfeld back in the day. But, he said they’d come up with another joke. He said, “Your job is to be agile and clever enough that, wherever they put the gates, I’m going to make the gate.”

A lot of couples have “hall passes,” but odds are, there are zero chances of actually being able to use it. Jelly Roll’s wife Bunnie XO got to meet hers backstage. She posted a TikTok where she met Chris Cerulli — the lead singer of Motionless in White — before he took the stage. Set to Celine Dion’s “The Power of Love,” Bunnie captioned the video, “When you finally get to meet your hall pass,” adding, “You could say we’re in love now.” Jelly thought it was funny. He even posted in the comments, “Bout time.” But Jelly’s fans? They’re not having it, and they slammed Bunnie for disrespecting her man. Bunnie called her critics out for their hypocrisy, saying that when Jelly Roll posted a photo with his crush Taylor Swift, they all swooned. But maybe it’s because, unlike his wife, Jelly Roll didn’t add video of him doing a hand gesture that simulates a sex act……..

Britney Spears is finally FOR REAL done with her conservatorship. She just has to pay her dad’s $2M+ in legal fees on top of the $4M+ she paid her own attorney. A lot of her fans are concerned that Britney is blowing through her $60M estate. In fact, one source told Page Six that Britney “has no concept of money. For over a decade, other people were in charge of her bank accounts, and every purchase had to be reported to the court — even if it was just a pack of gum. But now, she’s on her own.” Another source said the people in Britney’s inner circle are afraid to bring up their concerns over her spending because they don’t want her to feel like a “Jamie 2.0” and give her conservatorship flashbacks. But with Britney reportedly dropping hundreds of thousands on a single trip to French Polynesia, shouldn’t somebody say something? Well, a third source said claims Britney is going broke are “grossly exaggerated,” however, she “should keep an eye on private jets.”
