Kelly Preston has passed away after a 2-year battle with breast cancer. She was only 57. Kelly wanted to keep her battle private, which is why this news came as such a shock. John Travolta posted the news on Instagram, saying, “…My family and I will forever be grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center, all the medical centers that have helped, as well as her many friends and loved ones who have been by her side. Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered. I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don’t hear from us for a while. But please know that I will feel your outpouring of love in the weeks and months ahead as we heal. All my love, JT.” Kelly leaves behind her husband, John, and two children, 20-year-old Ella and 9-year-old Benjamin. Their son Jett died in 2009 at the age of 16. John has sadly experienced this same loss before. Forty-three years ago, his girlfriend Diana Hyland died in his arms after battling breast cancer. She was 41 at the time — 18 years older than John. They met on the set of “The Boy in the Plastic Bubble” when she played his mom.

The search for Naya Rivera continues. Last Wednesday, Naya rented a pontoon boat and took her 4-year-old son out onto Lake Piru, about 60 miles outside of downtown LA. When she didn’t return the boat after the 3-hour rental, employees went out and found Josey sleeping alone on the boat. He was wearing a life jacket, but Naya’s was on the boat. Josey told authorities he and his mom had gone swimming, but she never came back. Search efforts have been intense, but so far there has been no sign of Naya. She is presumed to have drowned.

Johnny Depp is suing The Sun tabloid in London over a 2018 article in which they accused him of being a wife beater. In a London courtroom this morning, Johnny wrapped up 5 days of testimony, defending himself against Amber Heard’s accusations of abuse, dating back to 2013. Johnny testified that Amber was the violent one in the relationship. He also testified that the final straw for their marriage was when Amber — or one of her friends — pooped in his bed. Johnny was livid, but she dismissed it as a “harmless prank.” Johnny’s former girlfriend Winona Ryder is expected to testify over a video link this week that he was never abusive toward her.

Ahead of One Direction’s 10th anniversary on July 23, Louis Tomlinson tweeted that he has left his record label. After they became a group on “The X Factor,” the band signed on with Simon Cowell’s label, Syco Music. When 1D went on “hiatus” in 2015, Louis was the only one to stick with Simon. The other guys signed with different labels. Louis’ debut album “Walls” finally debuted earlier this year, but it looks like he and Syco Music are one and done. Meantime, Liam Payne has announced a live-streamed virtual concert for this Friday called “The LP Show.” He said tickets are “pay what you want” but they start at $10…

On Friday’s Red Table Talk, Jada Pinkett Smith admitted she got into an “entanglement” with August Alsina about four and a half years ago when she and Will Smith were separated. She admitted she was in a lot of pain and that she just wanted to feel good. But she said being in that relationship showed her that she couldn’t find happiness outside of herself. Jada also said that while Will didn’t give August permission to have a relationship with Jada, August is not a home wrecker. In August’s defense, he didn’t say he asked Will for permission, but he did say Will gave his blessing. Either way, after watching the show, August went on a Twitter rant, saying, “Imagine not knowing how to mind the business that pay you. I catch all the subliminals. (Not just about today) & you can call me whatever you like, Mess is constantly inserting yourself in topics you have nun to do w/. Go play w/ ya MAMMY! Not me!” He followed that up with, “If you have something to say, say it w/ ya CHEST kids. It’s always very perplexing cause I real deal be showing people genuine love.
