Thanksgiving celebrations… Samuel L. Jackson is in talks… Snoop Dogg & Simone Biles are teaming up… Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey premiere… and Jason Kelce announced his new late night show

In Thanksgiving Holiday Traditions News — A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving will stream exclusively on Apple TV+ this Saturday and Sunday. Even though he already has plans to go to his grandma’s house, Peppermint Patty invites everyone to Charlie Brown’s house for Thanksgiving, so Snoopy steps up to cook his own version of a Thanksgiving meal. But what if you don’t subscribe to Apple TV+? That’s okay! In the spirit of giving, they’re allowing non-subscribers to stream it for free this weekend. They’ll do the same for A Charlie Brown Christmas on Dec. 14 and 15. And speaking of another Thanksgiving tradition, the 98th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade takes place on Thanksgiving Day, starting at 8:30am your local time. This year’s parade features more than 5,000 volunteers, 34 floats, and 22 giant character balloons, including the brand new Gabby from Gabby’s Dollhouse. There are several other new balloons and floats for 2024, including Minnie Mouse, Spider-Man, Marshall from Paw Patrol, a newly designed Goku, the legendary hero from Dragon Ball, and Santa’s magical arctic fox Extraordinary Noorah, joined by The Elf on the Shelf. Also, Dora the Explorer is back for the first time in 15 years. There will be a ton of musical performances, as well. We’ll hear from Jennifer Hudson, Kylie Minogue, Ariana Madix, Joey McIntyre, Rachel Platten, Billy Porter, T-Pain, Idina Menzel, Charli D’Amelio, Jimmy Fallon & the Roots, Dan + Shay, The Temptations, and more.

In movie news, Samuel L. Jackson reportedly is in negotiations to star in JJ Abrams’ next movie, which he is both writing and directing. The movie doesn’t have a title yet, but it does have a growing cast. Glen Powell and Jenna Ortega have already signed on. We know nothing about the project other than it’s set to begin production this spring in the UK. This is JJ Abram’s first directorial effort since 2019’s Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker. If you remember, Samuel L. Jackson played Jedi Master Mace Windu in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, and briefly worked with JJ for a voice cameo for the climax of Rise of Skywalker. In other movie news, Boyz II Men is developing a biopic about their career, which spans 3 decades. This is in the early stages of development. They’re still meeting with writers and directors but once they get going, they hope to knock it out pretty quickly.

Simone Biles is teaming up with Snoop Dogg as a guest mentor on The Voice. It sounds odd, mainly because Simone doesn’t sing. But she and Snoop bonded during the Paris Olympics, so here we are. Simone joins Snoop in mentoring five singers hoping to win a spot in the live shows. Look for her in this Monday night’s episode. In other Voice news, Snoop’s fellow coach Reba McEntire just got some good news. Her NBC comedy series Happy’s Place debuted on Oct. 18 with 13 episodes scheduled. But it’s doing so well, NCBC has ordered 5 more.

The new Netflix documentary Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey? drops on Monday. The couple who now own the home where JonBenét was killed in 1996 say they were approached by the producers to film there, but they said no way. Timothy and Carol Milner bought the home in 2004 and raised their 5 children there. Over the years, the couple say they’ve refused all offers to film there, including one from Dr. Phil, and all offers to sell, including one for over 7 figures. The Milners say they never felt uneasy about the history of their home, and they don’t believe the Ramsey family had anything to do with JonBenét’s murder. Even though they’ve come close to listing the home inn the past, they’ve never followed through. But now, they say there are “in talks with a few interested buyers.”

Jason Kelce announced his retirement from the NFL back in March and it’s the best thing he’s ever done. Earlier this year, he and his brother Travis signed a massive 3-year, $100M deal to stream their New Heights podcast with Amazon’s Wondery. Jason also works as an analyst for ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown. And now, Jason just revealed that he’s getting his own late night talk show! They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce will kick off at midnight Central Friday, Jan. 3, with all the classic late-night show elements, including celebrity guests, a live audience and a house band. Jason chose SNACKTIME, a popular band from Philly. ESPN ordered 5 episodes, which will air every Friday night through Feb. 1.
