With the Delta variant keeping a lot of people home, “Free Guy” did better than the studios expected, debuting in first place with $28.8M this weekend. Star Ryan Reynolds tweeted that Disney has already decided to do a sequel. Coming in second was “Don’t Breathe 2” which debuted with $10.6M. It only cost about $15M so they’ve almost broken even already. In its third week of release, “Jungle Cruise” landed at number three, adding another $9M to its box office totals. “Respect” debuted in fourth with $8.8M and “The Suicide Squad” rounded out the top five with $7.7M.

Ryan Murphy already has “American Horror Story” and “American Crime Story” on FX. Now, he’s announced three spinoff projects. “American Sports Story” is a scripted anthological limited series that re-examines a prominent event involving a sports figure. First up is Aaron Hernandez, who was found guilty of murdering his sister’s boyfriend but was acquitted of murdering a second person. He died by suicide in prison. “American Love Story” will chronicle true love stories. Ryan’s first installment will follow the love story of American royalty — the whirlwind courtship and marriage and then tragic deaths of John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette. And the next “American Crime Story” will be based on the rise and fall of Studio 54. Ryan will tell the story of how two guys created one of the most infamous nightclubs in the world. Their success lasted three years until they lost it all when they were convicted of tax fraud. In the meantime, we have “American Horror Story: Double Feature” premiering on August 25. And “American Crime Story: Impeachment” premieres September 7.

Nobody will be making movies about this romance because Pete Davidson and Phoebe Dynevor have already fizzled out. They were first linked in February. In March, they were photographed in her hometown in England wearing matching “PD” necklaces. In April, Pete said in an interview that he was dating his celebrity crush. Fast forward to July when Pete and Phoebe made their official debut as a couple at Wimbledon. Right after that, Pete flew back to NY and they haven’t seen each other since. A source told “The Sun” that with Pete working in NY and Phoebe working in London, they’re just too busy and too far apart to make this work.

On Thursday, Kelly Clarkson let out a whoop on the set of “The Voice” when she found out a judge was upholding her prenup, giving Brandon Blackstock none of the money she earned during their 7-year marriage. On Friday, Kelly grabbed her cowboy hat and her two best girls and headed off to Las Vegas. She posted on Instagram, “Friends, Vegas, Top Golf, and George Strait… I dare you to have a better time than me right now.”
