Justin Bieber Calls The Weeknd’s Music ‘Wack’

Weekend box office news… The Razzies nominations… Luke Bryan’s big announcement… Olivia Munn posted a handwritten note… and Justin Bieber calls The Weeknd’s music ‘Wack’

The movie studio expected “Split” to have a $20 million debut, and they sure are they glad they were wrong! “Split” doubled expectations, debuting with $40.2 million and a first place finish. Coming in second was the new movie “xXx: The Return of Xander Cage” with $20 million. “Hidden Figures” dropped from first to third with $16.3 million. “Sing” was fourth with $9 million and “La La Land” rounded out the top five with $8.4 million.

The Oscar nominations aren’t out yet, but the nominations for the Razzies are! The Golden Raspberry Awards celebrate the worst movies of the year. “Zoolander 2” and “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” are tied with eight nominations each. Both are up for worst movie, along with “Dirty Grandpa,” “Gods of Egypt,” “Hillary’s America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party,” and “Independence Day: Resurgence.” Winners — or losers? — will be announced on Feb. 25, the day before the Academy Awards.

Luke Bryan could’ve maybe cleaned himself up from that obvious bender he was on the night before to make his big announcement. But he posted a video on his Twitter yesterday announcing that he will perform the National Anthem at the Super Bowl on Feb. 5.

When Tom Brady lost the Super Bowl, Gisele Bundchen went off on the other players and the fans. Olivia Munn took a different approach. When her boyfriend Aaron Rodgers’ Packers got smeared by the Falcons and lost the NFC Championship, she posted a handwritten note to the fans, saying, “So proud of this team. They faced a lot of adversity on and off the field, but battled to get this far. Thank you to those of you who encouraged and supported them by choosing to put out only *positive* energy. It helped them get this far.” Is that “off the field” adversity Olivia is referring to the feud between Aaron and his entire family?

Justin Bieber was walking out of a restaurant in West Hollywood Friday when a paparazzo asked him if he listens to The Weeknd’s music. He answered, “Hell no, I can’t listen to a Weeknd song. That (BLANK)’s whack.” It could be that he is truly not a fan, or it could be that he doesn’t like the fact that The Weeknd is apparently dating his ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez. Meantime, the Daily Star Sunday is reporting that Justin is interesting in playing the late George Michael in a movie about his life. A source says several studio bosses have shown interest, believing that Justin could not only pass for a young George, but could nail the voice.
