Weekend box office news… Sacha Baron Cohen’s new comedy series… Ben Simmons is freaked out… Halsey & G-Eazy split… and Justin Bieber decided to propose to Hailey Baldwin

“Ant-Man and the Wasp” was number one this weekend with $76 million. It’s the lowest opening for a Marvel movie since the first “Ant-Man” movie, but it still earned 33 percent more than the first one did on its opening weekend. Second place went to “Incredibles 2” with $29 million in its fourth weekend, with “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” nipping at its heels with $28 million. On Friday, that movie crossed the $1 billion mark globally.

Showtime cryptically announced last week that Sacha Baron Cohen is doing a new comedy series for them called “Who Is America?” Showtime described Sacha’s character as being “shameless” and “cold-blooded” and said this might be “the most dangerous show in the history of television.” Yesterday Sacha posted a short clip teasing the project. It starts with, “Imagine if Sacha Baron Cohen had been secretly filming a new show for a year….” It ends with him asking Dick Cheney to sign his waterboard kit. “Who Is America?” debuts this Sunday night on Showtime.

According to TMZ, Ben Simmons is starting to be a little freaked out by his ex-girlfriend Tinashe’s behavior. He dumped Tinashe for Kendall Jenner, and apparently Tinashe is not taking it very well. Last week, Tinashe claimed that Ben was texting her, but she later admitted that she lied about that and apologized to Ben. Now sources told TMZ that Ben is seriously thinking about beefing up security because Tinashe keeps showing up at the same places he goes with Kendall. Sources say he thinks it’s happened way too many times for it to be a coincidence, and that he believes she’s become obsessive.

After a year of dating, Halsey announced last Tuesday that she and G-Eazy are taking some time apart. She wrote on her Instagram Story, “I’m eager to continue the upcoming passage of time dedicating myself to my art and career, and the duration of my tour. I wish him the best. Thanks for respecting our privacy at this time.” So if she wants privacy, why is Halsey dropping all these hints that G-Eazy cheated on her?? First she tweeted and deleted the scissors emoji, which we have to assume is a reference to the song “Him & I” that the two of them did together. In the lyrics, he says, “Ever catch me cheating, she would try to cut my (BLANK) off.” And then she later tweeted, “pumpkin eater,” apparently referencing the rhyme, “Cheater, cheater, pumpkin eater.” It all got to Halsey at her concert in Michigan Friday night. She broke down in tears while singing her song “Sorry” when she got to the lyrics, “Someone will love you/ But someone isn’t me.”

For some reason, Justin Bieber decided to propose to Hailey Baldwin in the Bahamas Saturday night. According to sources, Justin’s security told people at this crowded restaurant to put their phones away because something was about to happen, and that’s when Justin dropped down on one knee. He’s 24; she’s 21. Apparently, their parents are supporting this. Justin’s dad Jeremy posted a picture of Justin on Instagram and captioned it, “@JustinBieber Proud is an understatement! Excited for the next chapter!” His mom Pattie tweeted, “Love Love Love Love Love Love Love.” Hailey’s dad Stephen tweeted and later deleted, “Sweet smile on my face! Me & wife (Kennya), always pray 4 Gods will!! He is moving in the hearts of JB&HB. Let’s all pray for his will to be done. Love you 2 so much!” He also added the scripture about husbands loving their wives.
