Bill Cosby needs a new attorney… Kelly Ripa doesn’t want to move… Harry Styles has a new girlfriend… Beyonce is interested in buying a piece of a team… and Kanye West is suing an insurance company for $10 million
Bill Cosby goes back to court on November 6 to be re-tried on sexual assault charges but he’ll have to do it with a new lead attorney. Brian McMonagle quit yesterday. No reason was given, but a source told RadarOnline.com, “He’s not going to continue to put his stellar reputation on the line if there’s no cooperation from his client and his client’s publicist.” Reportedly, Bill is furious. But he’s also got to get busy finding a new lead attorney. Radar says he’s already reached out to Michael Jackson’s former attorney, Tom Meserau, former O.J. Simpson attorney Robert Shapiro, and Shawn Chapman-Holley, who most famously represented Lindsay Lohan.
RadarOnline.com says Kelly Ripa has drawn a line in the sand. After finding out that Ryan Seacrest wants to move “Live!” to LA, Kelly said that if that happens, she’s out. But producers aren’t giving up. Ratings have dropped drastically since Ryan jumped on board, and they think being in LA will give them better access to celebrity guests. Kelly’s not buying it. A source says she’s having Michael Strahan flashbacks and is feeling disrespected by ABC all over again.
Harry Styles reportedly is dating Victoria’s Secret model Camille Rowe. It’s in the early stages, but the British tabloids are saying Harry is “besotted.” This apparently irked Harry’s most recent fling, British food blogger Tess Ward. She posted a picture of a pan of mushrooms fresh from the oven and captioned it, “I think ‘besotted’ might just be the word of the day. That’s certainly how I feel about these garlic, thyme and butter roasted mushrooms.” Many called her out for throwing shade.
Bloomberg reports that Beyonce is interested in buying a piece of the Houston Rockets. Team owner Les Alexander announced he’s selling the franchise, which he bought for $85 million back in 1993. Forbes recently reported that the Rockets are valued at $1.65 billion, but because the team is so popular in China, the sale price could be more than $2 billion!
Kanye’s touring company is suing Lloyd’s of London for not paying up when his Saint Pablo tour had to be cut short. Kanye had a policy to cover expenses should the tour be canceled for any reason, and that reason happened to be that he suffered a mental breakdown. But the insurance company says they won’t pay because they believe his marijuana use led to the breakdown. Now Kanye’s company is suing for $9.8 million, plus interest.
