Other than being criticized for its lack of diversity, the Oscars are also criticized for being painfully long. So they’re going to try something different this year. Eight of the 23 awards people don’t really care about are going to be presented before the live broadcast, and then those acceptance speeches will be edited down and presented later in the live broadcast. Now they tried doing this same thing in 2018, but they got so much backlash they walked back on that decision. But with ratings continuing to decline, they’re going to try again. The categories affected are Documentary Short, Film Editing, Makeup and Hairstyling, Original Score, Production Design, Animated Short, Live Action Short, and Sound. The Oscars will air on March 27 on ABC.

Yesterday, it was announced that Emmy Rossum has signed on to play Tom Holland’s mother on a new AppleTV+ show called “The Crowded Room.” Tom is 25; Emmy is 35. A lot of people have a problem with that and they’re expressing it on social media. Why not hire an older actress who’s struggling to find work? This is blatant ageism! Why wouldn’t they hire an actress in her mid 40s or older for the role? Has anyone checked Kate Winslet’s availability?

In a classic “I’m going to show you just how serious I am!” move, less than 3 hours after she filed for divorce from Sam Hunt, Hannah Lee withdrew her petition. She filed at 11:43am on Friday, but at 2:13pm she said, “Never mind.” “Us Weekly” didn’t find out about her change of heart until yesterday. They did learn that Hannah Lee’s decision to withdraw her divorce petition was listed as “voluntary nonsuited without prejudice,” which means she can re-file again in the future but if she does, she can’t back out a second time.

Despite a bunch of sources saying they’ve broken up and Shailene Woodley being seen without her engagement ring less than a week ago, Aaron Rodgers sure doesn’t sound like they’re done. After news broke that they’d broken up, Aaron hopped on Instagram Monday to post a picture of them snuggled up and captioned it, “@shailenewoodley, thanks for letting me chase after you the first couple months after we met, and finally letting me catch up to you and be a part of your life. Thanks for always having my back, for the incredible kindness you show me and everyone you meet, and for showing me what unconditional love looks like, I love you and am grateful for you.” Then yesterday Aaron was a guest on “The Pat McAfee Show” and said he recently told Shailene, “I’ve been with you two years, won two MVPs — that’s not a coincidence, either….I know, for me, it’s been great the last two seasons to have that stability at home.” He said having a partner like Shailene makes life “more enjoyable, and tasteful and exciting.” He said, “When you meet your person, life just changes, and you can’t possibly not be changed being around those special people that we meet. Friendships can do that. Relationships can do that. And you’re never the same because you know that you can’t be.” So it doesn’t SOUND like they’re broken up, but no official comment from either of their reps at this point. We’re still relying on “sources” who say they’re no longer engaged.

Kanye promised “Donda 2” would drop yesterday, but it didn’t. However, he did play the album for fans — including Elon Musk — at a listening party in Miami last night that he rolled out as a national IMAX event. And of course, Kanye was over 2 hours late getting started. Unlike his “Donda” listening party, Kim Kardashian did NOT show up for this one. The song that people are talking about the most is “Security,” where Kanye calls out both Pete Davidson and Kim’s security guards. Kanye apparently references a text message Pete sent him about never wanting to come between him and his children, to which Kanye raps, “He’s not a threat / Send him a text / Put him in a timeout” and then “Never take the family picture off the fridge / Never stand between a man and his kids / Y’all ain’t got enough security for this.”
