Kanye West’s ‘Donda’ Album Didn’t Debut

All the delayed movies… Ryan Reynolds & Samuel L. Jackson team up… TikTok is helping more creators… Britney Spears’ brother addressed the “Free Britney” movement… and Kanye West’s ‘Donda’ album didn’t debut

Hollywood keeps pushing and shoving release dates, but here’s the very latest. “Mulan” was supposed to be this summer’s big blockbuster for Disney, but it got pushed till March. Then after rescheduling the release date two more times, Disney has taken it completely off the schedule. Maybe they’ll just decide to push it a year like they’re doing with the upcoming upcoming “Star Wars” trilogy. Those will now come out in 2023, 2025 and 2027. The upcoming “Avatar” sequels are also getting pushed forward a year. “Avatar 2” will now hit theaters in 2022, followed by another sequel every two years until “Avatar 5” opens in 2028. “A Quiet Place 2” was supposed to open back in March, but the new date is in April 2021. “Top Gun: Maverick” should’ve come out last week, but then it got bumped to Christmas. Now they’re decided to hold off until July 2021. And finally “Bill & Ted Face the Music” will head strait to VOD on Sept. 1. They’ll make it available for any theaters that may decide to take a shot at reopening by then. In this third “Bill & Ted” adventure, Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are back, but this time, they need their daughters’ help in saving the world.

Quibi still hasn’t caught on, but that’s not stopping them from trying! Quibi announced a new show called “Futha Mucka” starring Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds! They’ll be playing fictionalized versions of themselves. The premise is, some minor mishap results in Sam becoming Ryan’s primary caregiver, and that’s when things get weird. THIS might be the reason I finally download Quibi.

TikTok has announced the creation of a $200 million fund called the TikTok Creator Fund. They want to use the money to supplement the incomes of their top content creators and, hopefully, attract the next crop of TikTok stars. Up until now, creators could only monetize their accounts through live stream and brand partnerships. To be eligible for these funds, you must be 18 or older, live in the US, and consistently post original content that complies with TikTok guidelines. Applications will be accepted starting next month.

Britney Spears’ older brother Bryan gave a rare interview to the “As NOT Seen on TV” podcast yesterday, and he talked pretty openly about his sister’s conservatorship. As far as the #FreeBritney movement, Bryan said the family truly appreciates how much everyone loves and supports his sister, but he’s not really sure what they want. Britney has been under a conservatorship for 12 years. For those who aren’t familiar, Bryan explained that when you have “someone who’s incapacitated or a danger to themselves, the state comes in and they award a team of people to oversee them, and run their lives, and put them on the right path.” He said Britney has always wanted out of the conservatorship, because who likes being told what to do?! But Bryan said this has been “a great thing for our family to this point.” And he believes his dad Jamie has “done the best he could given the situation he was put in.”

After tweeting that his new album “DONDA” would be released on Friday, fans were expecting it to hit at the stroke of midnight. Didn’t happen. We don’t know what’s going on with that. Kanye hasn’t commented. And don’t ask Kim, because Kanye’s not speaking to her. Sources say she’s tried, but he hasn’t communicated Kim since before his presidential campaign rally in SC last weekend. Since then, Kanye tweeted how angry his is that Kim and Kris Jenner want to have him locked up on a psychiatric hold. Kim said that’s not possible because Kanye is not a minor and he hasn’t exhibited any signs that he wants to harm himself. While lashing out at his mother-in-law, Kanye called her “Kris Jong Un,” blasted her out for selling Kim’s sex tape and pimping her to Playboy, and then banned her from seeing his kids. But one person who agrees with Kanye on all that is Blac Chyna. She released a statement through her attorney saying that “of course (she) wants her daughter Dream’s ‘Uncle Kanye’ to get whatever help he needs. However, Chyna does not want all of his recent statements regarding his mother-in-law summarily dismissed as ‘crazy’ as some people apparently would like to do.” We also have to remember that Chyna is suing Kris and the Kardashians because she believes they were behind the cancellation of her E! reality show with Rob.
