Kim Kardashian West Claps Back At Lindsay Lohan

Carrie Underwood got busted… Alessia Cara is on the defense… #GrammysSoMale… Adam Levine may leave The Voice… and Kim Kardashian West claps back at Lindsay Lohan

Carrie Underwood got busted for speeding and she’s fessing up! She posted on Twitter, “Well, it happened today. After 18 years, I can no longer say I’ve never been pulled over for speeding. I feel so ashamed! I may or may not have cried in my car after the cop let me go. #RuleFollower, #GrannyDriver and #ImSorry.”

Alessia Cara should be celebrating her Best New Artist Grammy, but instead, she feels like she has to defend it. Alessia beat out Khalid, Lil Uzi Vert, Julia Michaels and SZA for that award, but there’s been a tremendous amount of backlash because a lot of people don’t consider her to be a “new” artist. That got to her, and Alessia decided to share her feelings in a VERY lengthy Instagram statement. Here’s a small part of it: “I didn’t log onto grammy.com and submit myself. that’s not how it works. I did’t ask to be submitted either because there are other artists that deserve the acknowledgment. but I was nominated and won and I am not going to be upset about something I’ve wanted since I was a kid, not to mention have worked really hard for….” She also addressed the people bullying her over her win. She said, “I will not let everything I’ve worked for be diminished by people taking offence to my accomplishments and feeling the need to tell me how much I suck. here’s something fun! I’ve been thinking I suck since I was old enough to know what sucking meant. I’ve beat u to it. And that’s why this means a lot to me….”

to address the apparent backlash regarding winning something I had no control over: I didn’t log onto grammy.com and submit myself. that’s not how it works. I didn’t ask to be submitted either because there are other artists that deserve the acknowledgment. but I was nominated and won and I am not going to be upset about something I’ve wanted since I was a kid, not to mention have worked really hard for. I meant everything I said about everyone deserving the same shot. there is a big issue in the industry that perpetuates the idea that an artist’s talent and hard work should take a back seat to popularity and numbers. and I’m aware that my music wasn’t released yesterday, I’m aware that, yes, my music has become fairly popular in the last year. but I’m trying very hard to use the platform I’ve been given to talk about these things and bring light to issues that aren’t fair, all while trying to make the most of the weird, amazing success I’ve been lucky enough to have. I will not let everything I’ve worked for be diminished by people taking offence to my accomplishments and feeling the need to tell me how much I suck. here’s something fun! I’ve been thinking I suck since I was old enough to know what sucking meant. I’ve beat u to it. And that’s why this means a lot to me. despite my 183625 insecurities, I’ve been shown that what I’ve created is worth something and that people actually give a shit. all of the years feeling like I wasn’t good at anything or that I was naive for dreaming about something improbable have paid off in a way that I have yet to process. I know it sounds cheesy and dumb but it’s the honest truth. thanks to everyone who’s shown me kindness and support along the way. I’ll stop talking now.

Alessia Cara was the only woman to receive a Grammy during the live telecast, which led to #GrammysSoMale trending on Twitter. The Recording Academy president Neil Portnow took offense to that and told “Variety” that he believes women need to step up if they want to win Grammys! He said, “I think it has to begin with women who have the creativity in their hearts and souls — who want to be musicians, who want to be engineers, who want to be producers, who want to be part of the industry on the executive level — to step up.” He also went on to say that he doesn’t have personal experience of the brick walls women face, but says the industry should make the welcome mat “very obvious.” Those comments didn’t sit well with P!nk, who tweeted this handwritten message, “Women in music don’t need to ‘step up’ — women have been stepping since the beginning of time. Stepping up, and also stepping aside. Women OWNED music this year. They’ve been KILLING IT. And every year before this. When we celebrate and honor the talent and accomplishments of women, and how much women STEP UP every year, against all odds, we show the next generation of women and girls and boys and men what it means to be equal, and what it looks like to be fair.”

Adam Levine may finally be ready to rotate out. RadarOnline.com is reporting that Adam wants to give up his seat on “The Voice” so he can spend more time with his wife Behati Prinsloo, who is pregnant with their second baby. Adam’s been with the show since it started in 2011. The way he and Blake Shelton go at each other is one of the best parts of the show, but you know these guys love each other and it’s all good. But sources say it wasn’t all good when Adam was butting heads with Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Hudson, and it made doing the show less fun for him. Now a source says Adam wants to take a couple of years to be a stay-at-home dad and work on some new music. And the source says, “If Adam leaves, Blake is going to follow because he’s been over it for a while. Ever since Gwen left, Blake’s been ready to go.”

Kim Kardashian West needed some attention, so she posted a bunch of pictures of herself with her hair in cornrows and captioned the first one, “Bo West.” Get it? Remember Bo Derek from the movie “10” and those slow-motion runs down the beach with her braids bouncing in the breeze? No? Well, Lindsay Lohan didn’t get it, either. She commented, “I am confused.” I don’t know how Lindsay’s comment stood out in the sea of other comments, but Kim saw it and responded, “You know what’s confusing…your sudden foreign accent.” And just to make sure Lindsay saw it, she tagged her in the reply.
