Selena Gomez named Woman of the Year… “House of Cards” suspended production… Josh Groban recounts his near encounter… Wendy Williams passes out on live TV… and Kris and Kylie Jenner working on maternity line

Billboard has just announced that Selena Gomez is their 2017 Woman of the Year. They said, “Not only is Selena soaring on the charts, but she continuously inspires young women everywhere to be authentic, give back and to not be afraid to use their voice. She is never afraid to speak her mind and has used her platform to advocate for the needs of others.”

Yesterday afternoon, Netflix tweeted, “Production on the final season of House of Cards is suspended until further notice.” They expounded a little more in their statement to Deadline, “MRC and Netflix have decided to suspend production on House of Cards season six, until further notice, to give us time to review the current situation and to address any concerns of our cast and crew.” The “current situation” is Kevin Spacey and the accusation that he attempted to seduce a 14-year-old boy when he was 26. And we may hear more accusations against Kevin soon. A London theater where Kevin served as artistic director between 2004 and 2015 has now set up a hotline for people to call if they were assaulted by him. They released a statement saying, “If you have been connected with The Old Vic or in our employment and feel you have a complaint that you were unable to raise, please contact us.” The artistic director of another London theater says people in the industry have had “concerns” about Kevin for many, many years…

It was horrifying to see the news yesterday that a man rented a truck and drove it onto a bike path near the World Trade Center, leaving 8 people dead and more than a dozen injured. It turns out that Josh Groban was just half a block away when this all happened. He tweeted, “Oh my god I just heard gun shots and ran with my dog. Downtown. I hope everyone’s ok. Was half a block from me, didn’t see it but heard 8-19 quick rounds fired off. Be safe with your kids out there.” Josh said he was supposed to be having coffee right around that corner.

Wendy Williams was dressed up as the Statue of Liberty on her talk show yesterday and basically, she REALLY started to turn green before she passed out on live TV. Wendy was introducing her annual “How You Booin’?” costume contest when she started to slur her words. Then her eyes got really big and she staggered a bit before dropping like a sack of potatoes. They immediately went to a long commercial break and when they came back, Wendy explained that she’d gotten overheated in her costume and passed out. But she finished the show like a champ and says she will be back on the air today.

Nobody will confirm the news that Kylie Jenner is pregnant, but her mom Kris knows a money-making opportunity when she sees one. Kris thinks Kylie would slay in the world of maternity fashion for younger moms, and Kylie is digging on the idea. A source told RadarOnline.com that this will happen and because everything Kylie touches turns to gold, and Kris is already setting up meetings. The source also says that we can expect Kylie to finally confirm her pregnancy soon because “Kylie wants everyone to see what a cute pregnant girl she is.”
