Hasbro caused quite a bit of confusion yesterday with their announcement about Mr. Potato Head. They said they are dropping the “Mr.” from the Mr. Potato Head brand to be gender neutral and more inclusive so all could feel “welcome in the Potato Head world.” Hasbro also said it would sell a new play set this fall without the “Mr.” and “Mrs.” designations so kids can create their own type of potato families. Some people loved the change. Some people hated it. But in a tweet later in the day, Hasbro clarified that just the brand name is changing and the actual Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head characters will still live on and be sold in stores. They tweeted, “While it was announced today that the POTATO HEAD brand name & logo are dropping the ‘MR.’ I yam proud to confirm that MR. & MRS. POTATO HEAD aren’t going anywhere and will remain MR. & MRS. POTATO HEAD.” By the way, when Mr. Potato Head first debuted way back in 1952, it didn’t even come with a plastic potato. Kids had to supply their own potato and then poke plastic eyes, nose and mustache into it. But then Hasbro bought the brand, added the plastic potato, and the rest is toy history.

Are you willing to pay for perks on Twitter? Yesterday, Twitter founder and CEO Jack Dorsey announced some new features. Super Follow will allow users to subscribe to their favorite creators for a monthly price. One screenshot shows it at $4.99 per month, and with that, you can earn certain subscriber-only perks. That could include exclusive content, newsletters, deals and discounts, a badge that shows you’re a supporter and subscriber. Creators will also be able to paywall certain things that you wouldn’t be able to see unless you cough up the cash. Twitter is also going to allow tipping, although they didn’t say how that would work, although it seems self explanatory. You like a tweet? Is that worth a buck to you? It would certainly cause people to step up their Twitter games. No word on when these new features will launch.

Megan Thee Stallion scored a win in court yesterday. Last month, Tory Lanez filed a request to be able to speak publicly about the shooting last July that left Megan with bullets in her feet. Tory’s attorney Shawn Holley argued that a protective order preventing her client from speaking out was unfair because the same gag order isn’t being applied to Megan. In fact, she’s spoke out several times, even tweeting, “B**** you shot me AND MY STORY NOT CHANGING AND B**** YOU GOING TO JAIL.” But a judge ruled that Tory still has to keep his mouth shut.

Joshua Bassett recorded a song called “We Both Know” with his girlfriend Sabrina Carpenter, but he’s decided to remove it from his upcoming album. He told Billboard, “I didn’t want to be overshadowed by some other narrative that people were trying to make. I really want the focus to be on the art…” Joshua and Sabrina are the alleged subjects of Olivia Rodrigo‘s hit song “Driver’s License,” which has been on top of the Hot 100 for six weeks now. She won’t admit it, but Sabrina‘s song “Skin” seems to be a direct response to it. SNL did a skit about the “Drivers License” drama last week, which thrilled Olivia. Joshua had mixed feelings. he said, “First I was in disbelief, (but I was) mostly proud of Olivia. The fact that they were using her song in a sketch, I was like, ‘This is great. This is incredible!’” Then he said, “I was like, ‘I think I’m honored?’ Either way, he thought it was hilarious.

Lady Gaga is said to be beside herself with grief after someone shot her dog walker and stole two of her French bulldogs. Her father Joe Germanotta told the New York Post, “We’re just sick over it, it’s really horrible. It’s like someone took one of your kids.” Shortly before 10pm Wednesday, Ryan Fischer was taking Gaga’s there French bulldogs out for a walk in West Hollywood when a car pulled up, two men jumped out and tried to steal the dogs. Ryan tried to fight them off, but that’s when he was shot in the stomach. The men were able to grab two of the dogs, but one was able to run away. He came back to Ryan after the gunmen left. Ryan was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but is now said to be recovering well. Police are searching for the gunmen. Meantime, Gaga is offering a $500K reward for the return of her dogs, no questions asked. But I think the police would prefer some questions get answered.
