Will Smith’s new role… Joe Jonas will have a summer wedding… Wendy Williams addresses rumors… Corey Feldman shares his thoughts… and Luke Perry dead at 52

Will Smith has signed on to play Venus and Serena Williams’ dad Richard in a movie called “King Richard.” Even though he had zero tennis experience, Richard raised his daughters to become two of the best players in history. When his daughters were around 4, Richard drew up a 78-page plan for their professional tennis careers — talk about manifesting!! Then he started giving them tennis lessons on the cracked, weed-covered public courts in Compton. He would even get into fights with people who wouldn’t get off the courts so his girls could practice! And — obviously! — it all paid off. Serena has won 23 Grand Slams and Venus has won severn. It sounds like a great part for Will, but because people always come up with a reason to be mad…..he’s actually being criticized for being too light-skinned to play Richard Williams.

The Jonas Brothers are on “The Late, Late Show” all this week and last night, James Corden asked Joe about his upcoming wedding to Sophie Turner. Joe and Sophie have been engaged since October 2017, but Joe said it’s finally happening this summer. Rumor is that it will happen in Paris, but he didn’t say anything about that. Joe did say that he wants to have a flag rugby game before the ceremony so “if all the groomsmen show up with black eyes and broken arms” he’ll be very proud. James asked Joe if there was anything he learned NOT to do from Nick and Kevin’s weddings, he said, “All 18 of Nick’s were absolutely amazing….I would say, stick to one. One and done.” And as far as Kevin’s wedding, he said they had to suffer through a snowstorm so “maybe don’t get married in December.”

After taking off two months to deal with her health issues, Wendy Williams was back on her talk show yesterday. She distracted with the health news first, saying she’s been working with “a plethora of doctors” to get her thyroid issues under control with medication. But she knew good and well that all anybody cared about was whether or not she was going to address rumors about her husband’s pregnant mistress. First she gave a shout out to Kevin and said, “I’m still wearing my ring.” Then she posted a picture of her and Kevin from WAY back in the day and said, “I’m still very much in love with my husband and anyone who’s been married …..you know.” We do?? What do we know, Wendi?? She said, “Marriages have ebbs and flows, marriage isn’t easy. And don’t ask me about mine until you see this gone.” She held up her wedding ring and said “And it ain’t going anywhere, not in this lifetime.”

Corey Feldman watched the “Leaving Neverland” documentary and he had something to tweet about it. When Corey was 13 and Michael was 30, they became friends. But Corey said Michael never touched him inappropriately during their relationship. He tweeted, “All i know is what I experienced, & yes every experience was the same….right up 2 the sex part!That is where it becomes lala land, instead of neverland 4 me. We never spoke about sex other than a few warnings about how sex was scary, & dangerous…” He said he was thinking about releasing some recordings of conversations he had with Michael to “giv ppl a real look @ what a 30 yr old man/child & a 13 yr old boy would discuss, so every1 could hear the innocence of r relationship. Again i wasnt there when those boys were. But i was there around the same time as jimmy, & i saw many kids around (girls included) who i am… Still friends with 2 this day, & none of us were ever approached by him in a sexual way at all! So as much as those 2 men deserve 2 hav their voices heard, so do the thousands of kids who hung around him, that dont agree!” Corey went on to say that his memories of Michael are mostly fond, except for the one time they had a fight because Michael was afraid Corey would turn on him and make up lies. But Corey said, “I never did. I never would! I pray those boys can sleep w that same clarity of consciousness! let God b thy judge!” He also tweeted a photo of a handwritten letter that Michael wrote to his sister-in-law DeeDee about her three sons, who would be Michael’s nephews. It said, “Dee Dee please read this article about child molestation and please read it to Taj, TJ and Taryll, it brings out how even your own relatives can be molesters of children, or even uncles and aunts molesting nephews or nieces. Please read. Love MJ”

Five days after suffering a massive stroke, Luke Perry passed away yesterday morning. He was only 52. His rep released a statement saying Luke was surrounded by family and friends, including his two children, Jack and Sophie, their mother and his fiancée, Wendy Bauer. We didn’t even know Luke was engaged until his rep released that statement. Last Wednesday, EMTs arrived at Luke’s home and at the time, he was still able to communicate. But by the time they got to the hospital, his condition became a lot worse and he never recovered. For a lot of people, Luke will be best remembered as Dylan McKay from “Beverly Hills, 90210.” Most recently, he starred as Archie’s dad Fred Andrews on “Riverdale.”
