Mandy Moore & Taylor Goldsmith Are Married

Weekend box office news… Justin Bieber settles with former neighbours… Diddy on the death of Kim Porter… Petition demanding Maroon 5 not do the Super Bowl halftime show… and Mandy Moore is married

“Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” opened in first place this weekend, with $62.2 million in ticket sales. But globally, the movie earned $253.2 million! “The Grinch” was second with $38.2 million. “Bohemian Rhapsody” came in third with $15.7 million. While Grae Drake from Rotten Tomatoes loved it, the new Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne movie “Instant Family” only took in $14.7 million for fourth. The movie studio is hoping this feel-good movie will do well throughout the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays ahead. The new “Widows” debuted in fifth with $12.3 million.

It’s been over 5 years since Justin Bieber egged his next-door-neighbor’s house and over 3 years since they sued him, but believe it or not, the egging case has FINALLY been settled. However, we won’t be allowed to know any of the details. Even though Justin paid the $80K in damages, Jeffrey and Suzanne Schwartz said living next door to him caused them emotional harm, so they sued. In addition to the egging, Jeffrey accused Justin of spitting in his face and terrorizing his family with loud parties, drug use and aggressive driving in their gated community. The Schwartzes were asking for more than $25K in damages for their suffering. But now the case is settled and, even though we won’t know the terms, we do know that the judge who took over the case back in August was skeptical about the claims, calling the damaged “minimal.” Sounds like it didn’t go in the Schwartzes’ favor.

Kim Porter passed away last Thursday at the age of 47. She’d been battling the flu and pneumonia, which may have led to cardiac arrest. She shared 3 children with Diddy, who finally broke his silence on Kim’s death Sunday. He posted a video of their maternity shoot from back in December 2006 and captioned it, “For the last three days I’ve been trying to wake up out of this nightmare. But I haven’t. I don’t know what I’m going to do without you baby. I miss you so much. Today I’m going to pay tribute to you, I’m going to try and find the words to explain our unexplainable relationship. We were more than best friends, we were more than soulmates. WE WERE SOME OTHER S***!! And I miss you so much. Super Black Love.”

Someone started a petition on Change.org hoping to convince Maroon 5 to drop out of the Super Bowl Halftime Show to show support for Colin Kaepernick. The petition starts, “Rihanna has reportedly turned down the opportunity to perform in front of over 100 million people at the 2019 Super Bowl halftime show. Why? She supports Colin Kaepernick, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback who has been exiled from the NFL because of his decision to kneel during the national anthem….The band has a chance to stand on the right side of history. If they don’t, they will be remembered for choosing to side with the NFL over its players…” The goal is 50K signatures, which they will pass this morning.

Mandy Moore is off the market! She married musician Taylor Goldsmith in her backyard just after sunset yesterday. E! News says it was “very boho,” with “rugs on the floor surrounding the altar” and feathery flower arrangements. Only about 50 people were there to witness the ceremony, including Mandy’s “This Is Us” family, Milo Ventimiglia, Chrissy Metz and Sterling K. Brown. Here’s an interesting little tidbit — Taylor wrote Mandy a song called “Invisible Ink,” which she performed on the November 13th episode of her show. The song is featured on a demo that young Rebecca plays for record executives when she goes to LA with her new boyfriend, Jack.
