Avatar 2 is being pushed back… Academy tries to recruit black presenters… Patrick Dempsey and wife call off divorce… Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are engaged again… and Mariah Carey reveals HUGE engagement ring

Yesterday I told you that the next Star Wars movie was being pushed back to December 2017, which would put it up against Avatar 2. But now we’re finding out that Avatar 2 won’t be ready by then so it’s being pushed back until ….. we don’t know yet. This is the second delay for Avatar 2. It was originally supposed to come out by Christmas of this year. Remember, this is going to be part of a trilogy of sequels that James Cameron is shooting at the same time in New Zealand.

Page Six is reporting that the producers of the Oscars telecast are scrambling to find prominent black presenters to hand out the biggest awards of the night, including Best Picture. Names being mentioned include Oprah Winfrey and Morgan Freeman. One source says Will Smith was being considered as a presenter, but Will came out and said he was joining his wife in her boycott of the ceremony. Quincy Jones revealed this week that he was asked to be a presenter alongside Pharrell and Common, but he has one stipulation. He said, “I’m going to ask to speak for five minutes on the lack of diversity. If not, I’m not going to do it.”

Another romance that’s been rekindled — Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth. It’s been two years since these two called off their engagement. Not only is Miley wearing the ring she and Liam co-designed back in 2012, sources told E! News that the engagement is definitely back on.

And after 8 months of dating, Mariah Carey is engaged to Australian billionaire James Packer. It all happened in NYC last night. James reportedly filled Mariah’s hotel room with flowers, gathered her closest friends for a private dinner at Eleven Madison Park, dropped down on one knee and proposed with what’s believed to be a 35 carat engagement ring. This is the third marriage for both.
