Mariska Hargitay reveals injury… Mouse Rat announce debut album… ACL lineup… The Voice season 20 finale… and Matthew Perry slurs speech in ‘Friends’ reunion promo
Listen to “Showbiz – May 20, 2021” on Spreaker.

First Nick Jonas and now Mariska Hargitay! She’s not saying how it happened, but Mariska posted a photo on her Instagram yesterday showing her right leg in a knee brace and her left ankle in a boot. She captioned it, “#ThatFeelingWhen, you go to the doctor, get an MRI and find out that you have a broken knee, a hairline fracture in your ankle, and a torn ligament. It’s always a good idea to go to the doctor. Immediately.” Then after a bunch of hashtags that included, “Busting Perps with Busted Knees,” Mariska added, “Great news is I don’t need surgery” and “Just so you know this did NOT happen at work!” Thankfully, Mariska has time to heal because Season 22 of “Law & Order: SVU” has been wrapped and there are only 3 episodes left before the June 3 season finale.

If you were a big fan of “Parks & Recreation” then you may also be a fan of Mouse Rat. This was a cover band fronted by Chris Pratt’s character, Andy Dwyer, and they would perform on the series from time to time. Even though it was a fake band, Mouse Rat is now putting out a real album. “The Awesome Album” is available on Aug. 27, featuring 15 tracks. The first single is “5000 Candles in the Wind (Bye, Bye Lil Sebastion),” a tribute to a dead pony.

People were getting really pumped for the “Friends” reunion, which will finally air on HBO Max on May 27. But then “People” magazine posted a video to promote the special and all everyone can talk about is how sad they are after seeing Matthew Perry. He doesn’t look so good. And when he spoke — which wasn’t often — his speech was very slow and seemed a bit slurred. Fans were leaving comments like, “…Can’t believe how Matthew Perry looks like… seriously it breaks my heart,” and “It pains me to see Matthew Perry like this…” Mathew has been very open about his past struggles with addiction and admits that he can’t recall filming multiple seasons of “Friends.” And in 2018, he spent 3 months in the hospital recovering from gastrointestinal surgery.
