“Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” went into its opening weekend with some of the worst reviews ever for a Marvel movie. Despite that, the movie earned an estimated $118M through Monday, making it the fourth-best President’s Day weekend opening ever, according to “Deadline,” and it’s the best opening for any of the”Ant-Man” movies. “Avatar: The Way of Water” came in second with a 4-day weekend total of $7.5M, followed by “Puss in Boots: Last Wish” with $6.97M. “Magic Mike’s Last Dance” was fourth with $6.3M, and “Knock at the Cabin” rounded out the top five with $4.49M.

“Deadline” was first to report that “Judge Mathis” and “The People’s Court” have been canceled. Judge Mathis is currently in its 24th season and “The People’s Court” is wrapping up its 26th. Judge Greg Mathis has been hosting his show since 1999, giving him the title of the longest-running Black male host of a courtroom TV series. “The People’s Court” originally aired from 1981-1993 with Judge Joseph Wapner as its presiding judge. The show came back in 1997 with Judge Marilyn Milian, making her the first Latina judge to host a syndicated court show. After the news broke, Judge Mathis posted a video saying, “I’m sure by now you know that Warner Bros. is getting out of the ‘Judge Show’ business, cancelling me and ‘People’s Court.’ But, the good news is the other studios aren’t getting out of the ‘Judge Show’ business. And as you can see with this robe still on, something might be happening real soon. And in fact, if it does happen, it’s going to be — and it will — with a Black studio this time. I want to be able to empower Black businessmen and Black studios, so that they can hire more Black people and put more Black shows on the air.”

At the start of 2020, Rebel Wilson began her “Year of Health” with her boyfriend Jacob Busch by her side. She stuck to her health goals, but ditched the boy. Then in June of last year, Rebel posted a picture with her girlfriend, fashion designer Ramona Agruma, who owns a sustainable clothing brand called Lemon Ve Limon. Rebel captioned it, “I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince … but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess.” So it only made sense for Rebel to take Ramona to Disneyland where she got down on bended knee in front of Sleeping Beauty’s castle and proposed beneath a shower of pink rose petals. Rebel posted a couple photos of their happy moment, captioning them, “We said YES! 💗💗Thank you @tiffanyandco for the stunning ring 💍 and to Bob Iger and the incredible team at Disneyland @disneyweddings for pulling off this magical surprise!”

In Real Housewives news, Jen Shah of the Salt Lake City franchise has checked in to a federal prison in Bryan, Texas, to being her 6.5-sentence for being the mastermind of a telemarketing fraud scheme. Her attorney issued a statement saying Jen is “committed to serving her sentence with courage and purpose, fueled by her desire to make amends for the hurt she has caused and to help others in her new community.” And now a couple ladies from the Potomac have their own legal drama to deal with. Giselle Bryant and Robyn Dixon launched their “Reasonably Shady” podcast a couple years ago. Everything was fine until they filed to trademark the name, with the intention to sell everything from clothing to water bottles emblazoned with their podcast’s name. Eminem has filed an opposition to their trademark application, saying he’s exclusively used the names “Slim Shady” and “Shady” since 1998 and owns the trademark for “Shady.”

Why did Megan Fox get so angry with Machine Gun Kelly that she went scorched earth on her Instagram? A source told Page Six that she found some DMs and text messages on MGK’s phone which led her to believe he’d been having an affair. So when Megan was posting lyrics about cheating breath on her Instagram, someone suggested she caught him hooking up with his guitarist Sophie Lloyd. Megan responded, “Maybe I got with Sophie.” Then she shut down her Instagram. Well, THAT certainly didn’t help poor Sophie, who was just minding her own business! Suddenly she gets bombarded with who knows how many threats of violence in her DMs as well as people questioning her talent and professional integrity. On Saturday, Sophie posted the album art for her new single “Fall of Man,” and Megan commented, “How me making a joke in order to absolve this girl of a hurtful accusation somehow turned into a confirmation of it – I will never understand. Why are people so…so dumb Sophie you are insanely talented. Welcome to Hollywood. Your first unwarranted PR disaster You have now been baptized by the flames of fame. It only gets worse from here unfortunately Just ignore it as much as you can ❤️ middle finger up” Sophie saw that and responded, “The internet is so wild! Sending so much love @meganfox” Then on Sunday, Megan reactivated her Instagram but turned off the comments for this statement: “There has been no third party interference in this relationship of any kind. That includes, but is not limited to…actual humans, DMs, AI bots or succubus demons. While I do hate to rob you of running random baseless news stories that would have been much more accurately written by ChatGPT, you need to let this story die and leave all of those innocent people alone now,” adding praying hands and a purple heart emojis.
