Meghan Markle is being sued… Demi Lovato steps down from pilot… Kim Kardashian drops ‘West’… Pete Davidson is a rising star… and Mila Kunis & Ashton Kutcher launch fundraiser to support UkrainiansListen to “Showbiz – Mar 4, 2022” on Spreaker.
Meghan Markle is being sued for defamation by her half-sister, Samantha Markle, for the interview she and Prince Harry did with Oprah. Samantha claims Meghan made “false and malicious statements” during that interview. First of all, Samantha said Meghan claimed to be an only child when she has two older half-siblings. She also claims Meghan lied about the timeframe of when they last saw each other and made it sound like they were virtual strangers. Samantha also accuses Meghan of bashing their father, Thomas Markle, in an attempt to sell the world a false “rags-to-royalty” narrative of her life, and she says the stress Meghan caused is what led to their dad’s two heart attacks. Samantha is asking for $75K in damages and for the cost of her court and attorney’s fees.
In a surprise, last-minute move, Demi Lovato has stepped down from her role in the upcoming NBC comedy pilot “Hungry,” blaming it on scheduling issues. She will remain one of the executive producers, along with her manager Scooter Braun. They’re scrambling to re-cast the role because production is supposed to start soon. Valerie Bertinelli and Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias also star in the pilot. According to the press release, “Hungry” follows a group of friends who belong to a food-issues group helping one another as they look for love, success and the perfect thing in the fridge that’s going to make it all better.
On Wednesday, a judge declared her legally single and gave Kim back the name her mama gave her, Kimberly Noel Kardashian. One day later, “West” was scrubbed from all of Kim’s social media accounts. However, Kim is still promoting her KKW Fragrance collection in her bio.
Back in January, Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian — when she was still West! — went to Jeff Bezos’ house for dinner. A source told Page Six that Pete and Dave got along REAL well, which must’ve led to an invitation into space! The source said Pete is close to signing a contract to take a flight on Jeff’s Blue Origin rocket. Maybe they’ll turn it into a sketch for “Saturday Night Live.” Last May, when Elon Musk was hosting SNL, he played himself in a sketch where he rushes to mission control when a trip to Mars goes wrong. Pete’s doofus character Chad is the hero who has to save the crew.
When people say Pete Davidson is a rising star, you can take that literally now — dude’s talking to Jeff Bezos about blasting off in a Blue Origin spacecraft! https://t.co/de2KF15fF9— TMZ (@TMZ) March 3, 2022
Mila Kunis was born in the Ukraine in 1983 and moved to the US in 1991. Mila posted an Instagram video with her husband Ashton Kutcher yesterday and she said, “I have always considered myself an American. A proud American. I love everything that this country has done for myself and my family. But today, I have never been more proud to be a Ukrainian.” She and Ashton announced they’ve launched a GoFundMe page for those who fled the Ukraine to find safety in neighboring countries. They are pledging to match up to $3M in donations, with money going to AirBnB and Flexports — two companies providing shelter and supplies to Ukrainians who’ve fled to Poland, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and Moldova.
In partnership with @gofundmedotorg, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have just launched a fundraiser to support @Flexport & @airbnb—two organizations providing immediate relief to Ukrainians in need. They are also matching the first $3M raised.
