Despite a whole bunch of new movies being released, “Jumanji” easily held on to the top spot with $27 million. Coming in second was Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks’ new movie “The Post” with $18.6 million. Liam Neeson’s “The Commuter” debuted in third with $13.5 million. That was followed by “Insidious: The Last Key” with $12.1 million and then “The Greatest Showman” with $11.8 million.

Selena Gomez’s mom ain’t gonna lie. She doesn’t like Justin Bieber and she’s not happy that her daughter is back together with him. But, as Mandy Teefey told Gossip Cop, her daughter is an adult who can make her own choices. She said, “Selena can live her life however she wants as long as she is happy, safe and healthy.” Does she think Justin is healthy for Selena? Mandy said, “She is 25-years-old and knows what is at stake with her health.” Mandy added that she hasn’t talked to Justin in years, not even by text.

After his $1.5 million paycheck for reshooting his scenes for “All the Money in the World” became a huge thing, Mark Wahlberg announced that he has donated that money to the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund in Michelle Williams’ name. In addition to that, the William Morris Agency — which represents both Mark and Michelle and donated a million dollars to the fund earlier this month — is now donating another half a million dollars to the fund in Michelle’s name.

There was massive panic in Hawaii Saturday morning when an alert went out that a ballistic missile was heading that way, adding “THIS IS NOT A DRILL.” It turns out that it was a false alarm — some guy pushed the wrong button during a shift change — but people didn’t get that message until almost 40 minutes later. And some celebrities were among those seeking shelter, including Jim Carrey who tweeted, “I woke up this morning in Hawaii with ten minutes to live. It was a false alarm, but a real psychic warning.” Diana Ross was staying in a hotel where she and the other guests were ushered into the basement to wait it out. She said they were very frightened but remained positive. And some guy posted a picture of him and his friends in a fall out shelter with Magic Johnson.

According to the Australian magazine Now To Love, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth made a spur-of-the-moment decision to get married over the holidays while vacationing in Byron Bay, Australia. An insider told the magazine that Byron Bay is a special place for the couple because it was there on New Year’s Eve two years ago that “they realized they couldn’t live without each other and decided to really give their relationship another go.” The source said, “It was a no-brainer that it would be the place they tied the knot, if and when they decided to.” So did they? It’s been reported more than once before that the two of them had secretly married. But this time, Miley and Liam are both wearing what look like wedding bands.
