Drew Barrymore is in NYC this week to film a pilot for a daytime talk show. Drew actually signed a deal to do a talk show with Warner Bros. back in 2016, but affiliates were so ho-hum about the idea they never got around to filming a pilot. But Drew is taking a stab at it again, this time working with CBS. If it’s a go, her competition would likely be “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” which debuts on Sept. 9, right before “Ellen.”

Retired NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s private plane rolled off the end of a runway and burst into flames after landing at the Elizabethton Municipal Airport, which is about 3.5 hours northeast of Chattanooga. Dale, his wife Amy, their one-year-old daughter Isla Rose and two pilots were on board the Cessna Citation when it crashed. But — praise the Lord! — it looks like everybody is completely okay, other than some scrapes and cuts. The FAA will investigate what went wrong. Meantime, Dale won’t be in the broadcast booth for this weekend’s races at Bristol Motor Speedway, which is about 15 miles from the crash site and why Dale was flying in. He’s taking the weekend off to be with his family.

Their birthdays are 3 days apart and they’re both ridiculously rich, so their birthday gifts for each other are ridiculously over the top. For Jennifer Lopez’s 50th, Alex Rodriguez bought her a $140K red Porsche. For his 44th, she one-upped him with a rare 1976 Ford Bronco that’s been restored to the tune of $200K. A spokesperson for Vintage Broncos told E! News that Jennifer picked out the ride herself and had it customized for her man. She had the headrests stitched with A-Rod’s logo and his jersey number — 13 — is stitched into the armrest. The floor mats have the Yankees logo. The Bronco also got modern luxuries that it didn’t have back in 1976, like air conditioning! It also has heated seats, a backup camera, LED headlights, and a Bluetooth stereo. The restorations and improvements alone reportedly cost up to $200K. Alex is loving his present. He posted a video of himself driving Jennifer around blasting Cardi B’s “Money.”

After 3 seasons, Leah Remini’s “Scientology and the Aftermath” will end its run on AMC. The final episode will be a 2-hour special filmed in front of a live studio audience of former Scientologists. It airs Aug. 26. Leah and others have accused the Church of Scientology for covering up for members accused of sexual assault. Sources told The Hollywood Reporter that the accusations against Danny Masterson will be included in the special, including interviews with two of the women who’ve accused him of rape. Leah told THR she has no problem with people believing “whatever the (BLANK) they want, but they can’t just DO whatever the (BLANK) they want.” Leah says her next mission will be to prevent young members in the religion from being abused, but she won’t say what that is because she doesn’t want to give the Church of Scientology the heads up.

Everything timed out perfectly. Last weekend, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth announced they were breaking up after 8 months of marriage. Starting Monday, the spin doctors were out in full force. Her people put out stories that Liam has a problem with drugs and alcohol and that Miley did everything she could to save the marriage. His people said pictures of Miley making out with Kaitlynn Carter left him devastated and that the stories of him partying too hard were only to deflect from her cheating. So here we are at the end of the week, and Miley just dropped a single called “Slide Away.” It’s obviously about her marriage falling apart from her perspective. Some of the lyrics include, “I want my house in the hills. Don’t want the whisky and pills. I don’t give up easily but I don’t think I’m down.” She also sings, “Move on, we’re not 17. I’m not who I used to be. You say that everything changed. You’re right, we’re grown now. So won’t you slide away back to the ocean? I’ll go back to the city lights.”
