‘Miss Americana’ Review

Peter Venkman (Bill Murray) is back… Astrological proof Brad Pitt & Jen Aniston… Ariana Grande “outgrown” her BFF… Halsey misspoke… and ‘Miss Americana’ review

It’s been over 30 years since “Ghostbusters 2,” and now? Peter Venkman is back! It’s been confirmed that Bill Murray will be in the upcoming sequel, “Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” alongside his ghost-busting partners, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson. Unfortunately, their fourth member, Harold Ramos, passed away six years ago. But Bill told Vanity Fair, “We are a man down. That’s the deal. And that’s the story that we’re telling.” The movie will follow Callie, a hardworking single mom who moves her two kids to a small town in Oklahoma to live in an abandoned farmhouse that was left behind by her dead father, so put 2 and 2 together there. And Paul Rudd plays a teacher who happened to be there when the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man tore through Manhattan back in 1984, and he helps the kids figure out how all that ghost-busting stuff their grandfather left behind. “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” opens July 10.

Cosmo asked an astrologer to do charts on Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston to see if the stars are aligned for these two crazy kids to get back together. And according to the chart she used……..they are!! She goes on and on about Jen being ruled by the 7th house and something about Venus being exalted in Pisces…I don’t know what all that means, but she says it boils down to this: Jennifer has high hopes about the future of her relationship with Brad, but she’s also very content with where they are now. Brad, on the other hand, is ruled by the 1st house and he’s Mars….I DON’T KNOW WHAT ANY OF THIS MEANS!!! But she says that while Brad is a bit more hesitant in moving the relationship forward, Venus and Mars are squaring up this Sunday and that means they will get back together.

Celebrities know the power they have when they follow or unfollow someone on Instagram. And when Ariana Grande unfollowed her BFF Alexa Luria — who goes by Lexie — her fans definitely noticed. Ariana and Lexie have been friends since they were 8 years old! Lexie starred in several of Ariana’s music videos, including the one for “7 rings.” In fact, Lexie was one of the friends who inspired that son! So when a fan noticed Ariana stopped following Lexie, she tweeted her, “everything okay? saw you unfollowed a friend…” Ariana responded, “sometimes people outgrow each other no matter how much they love one another or how much history is there. hopefully it’s temporary. all i ask is that y’all please not get involved or send anything negative her way. want to get ahead of that.” She asked fans, “if you see anyone doing that at any point please ask them kindly not to.”

Even though Halsey’s new album has gotten mostly positive reviews, Pitchfork gave “Manic” a 6.5, tweeting, “Too much of this album sounds like the amorphous pop that you might associate with a miserable Lyft ride.” Halsey didn’t like that comparison one bit and fired back, “Can the basement that they run p*tchfork out of just collapse already.” That’s when a reporter for NBC digital tweeted, “Losing my mind thinking about the person on Halsey’s team who had to tell her she just called for the collapse of one world trade.” Yes, Pitchfork is part of Condé Nast and their offices are based One World Trade Center, the building that was built after the 9/11 terrorists attacks. The moment she realized, Halsey deleted her tweet and wrote, “ABSOLUTELY deleted it upon realizing this. Was just trying to make a joke! Intended zero harm. Just figured I could poke at them back with the same aloof passive aggression they poke at artists with! Clearly a misunderstanding.”

Taylor Swift’s image has always been super controlled and obsessively protected. So just how real does she get in her “Miss Americana” documentary? Not very. According to the New York Post, “most of the film is more wooden than Pinnochio, offering little insight into the deeply enigmatic figure and mostly reiterating what we already know about one of the world’s most famous women.” The reporter was, however, surprised to find out that Taylor hadn’t tasted her first burrito until two years ago. Who knew! And if you’re hoping to learn more about her relationship with Joe Alwyn, I’m sorry to tell you that this ain’t happening. She never mentions his name, but we do see her hug him and walk out of a concert venue together, but that’s it. You’ll never see him again. “Miss Americana” begins streaming on Netflix January 31.
