Weekend box office news… Petition to have Raven Symone removed from The View… Taylor Swift accused of stealing lyrics… Did Nicki Minaj mock person in wheelchair? and More evidence that Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are dating
October is traditionally one of the slowest months at the box office, but this weekend was the worst of 2015! Two new movies bombed this weekend — Bradley Cooper’s “Burnt” debuted with $5 million and a fifth place finish. And Sandra Bullock’s “Our Brand is Crisis” only earned $3 million for eighth place. It’s her worst opening EVER. In its fifth week of release, “The Martian” is still number one, followed by “Goosebumps,” “Bridge of Spies” and “Hotel Transylvania 2.”
Somebody started a petition on Change.org to have Raven-Symone removed from “The View.” The poorly punctuated letter attached says, “Raven Symone has been spouting her ignorant and self hating spiel on the view for Long enough, from stating that she wouldn’t hire somebody for having a ghetto name, to openly complaining about reverse racism, the final straw was her comment about the recent viral video of the school police officer assaulting the student, where Raven Symone said “get off your phone in school then”. African Americans and black people around the diaspora need a voice representative of their views and not a voice representative of what white people want us to say. We need strong black rolemodels in prominent positions on television an Raven Symone cannot provide that. That is why I ask that we petition to remove her from The View.” At last check, it was just over 20K signatures away from the 150K supporters necessary to…………..what? When you reach 150K, whatever you demand HAS to happen? Um, no. ABC has responded to this petition, saying, “We love Raven. She is confident, genuine and opinionated, all qualities that make her a great addition to the panel.”
Another lawsuit has been filed against Taylor Swift. This R&B singer named Jesse Braham says Taylor stole some of his lyrics from his 2013 song called “Haters Gone Hate” for her 2014 hit called “Shake It Off.” Jesse wants $42 million in damages AND a writing credit on Taylor’s song. By the way, the basis of Jesse’s argument is this: His song features the line, “Haters gone hate. Playas gone play. Watch out for them fakers. They’ll fake you everyday.” He says that’s a little too close to “‘Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play. And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate,” and “And the fakers gonna fake, fake, fake, fake, fake” for his comfort.
Nicki Minaj says anybody who thinks she was making fun of a disabled person is desperate for attention. But…..it sure does look like that’s exactly what Nicki was doing. Nicki dressed up as a sexy fairy to celebrate Halloween at 1Oak in Vegas this weekend. She posted a video showing her walking down a hallway saying she needed Handi-man — who was a handicapped superhero character from the 90s show “In Living Color.” And then she pointed a wand at a woman in a motorized wheelchair and commanded her, “Walk!” But Nicki says we all misunderstood and that the woman was just her friend in a scooter.

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are adding fuel to the rumors that they’re dating! They showed up separately at George Clooney’s Halloween party Friday night, but later they both ended up at Jared Leto’s party where eyewitness say they were holding hands until they noticed a photographer and let go. They still left in the same car together, though!
