“Furious 7” remained on top at the box office for a second week, earning another $60.6 million and bringing its box office total to $252.5 million. At its current rate, “Furious 7” is on track to become the highest grossing film in Universal’s history. “Home” was second with $19 million. And the only new wide release this past weekend was “The Longest Ride,” which opened in third with $13.5 million.
Ryan Reynolds was the victim of a hit-and-run in Vancouver yesterday. He was struck by a paparazzo who was driving a car through an underground parking garage. According to his publicist, the driver fled the scene, but Ryan is okay.
Nelly is facing felony drug charges after being arrested in Tennessee on Saturday. The Highway Patrol pulled over his tour bus because it failed to display some fuel tax sticker. Troopers smelled pot, so they did a search and found a small amount of marijuana, five rocks that tested positive for meth, drug paraphernalia and several handguns. Nelly is free on $10K bond. His next court date is June 19. Of course his attorney is claiming the drugs weren’t his and that there were up to 20 people who had access to the bus before it was stopped.
It’s a TimberBaby!! Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel are proud to announce the arrival of their baby boy, Silas Randall Timberlake! Their reps released a statement to “People,” “Mother and baby are doing well, and the father is ‘ecstatic.’” And that’s it! What we do know is that Silas is the middle name of Justin’s maternal grandfather, who passed away in 2012. And Randall is Justin’s middle name.
Shailene Woodley was the big winner last night at the MTV Movie Awards, taking home several golden popcorn trophies, including a special MTV Trailblazer award. She also won Best Female Performance and Best Kiss, along with her “The Fault in Our Stars” co-star, Ansel Elgort who, unfortunately, couldn’t be there to pick up his prize. “The Fault in Our Stars also won Movie of the Year. Special awards were also handed out to Robert Downey Jr., who was given the MTV Generation Award, and Kevin Hart, who was honored as Comedic Genius.
