Nick Cannon Fired Over Anti-Semitism

Great entertainment is finally FREE… Iggy revealed her son’s name… Scott Disick & Sofia Richie are ‘back on’… Tyra Banks is a new host… and Nick Cannon fired over anti-Semitism

NBC’s new streaming service called Peacock launched today. They’ve got 20K hours of programming, including “Parks and Rec,” “30 Rock,” and “Law and Order.” And starting next year, you can watch “The Office” once it leaves Netflix. They were hoping Peacock would launch with all the excitement of the summer Olympics, but oh well. In the meantime, there some controversy over the “30 Rock” reunion special NBC has planned for tomorrow night. A lot of affiliates have backed out of airing it because even though it’s airing commercial free, it’s basically a one-hour ad encouraging viewers to sign up for Peacock. And because it’s “commercial free,” local affiliates can’t sell ads, so they’d be losing money.

Last month, Iggy Azalea revealed she gave birth to a boy. She didn’t reveal his name or birthday, but many have guessed that Iggy gave birth in May. Yesterday, Iggy posted an audio clip on Instagram of her talking to her baby while he coos back. The names “Amethyst” and “Onyx” were written on the screen. Amethyst happens to be Iggy’s real name, so we have to assume she was introducing us to baby Onyx! We assume the water is her boyfriend, Playboi Carti.

After three somewhat bumpy years together, Scott Disick and Sofia Richie broke up back in May. Reportedly, being in quarantine was a real struggle for Scott, who has battled addiction issues and is still traumatized by the back-to-back deaths of his parents over six years ago. A source told “Us Weekly” that both of them worked on “having a life separate from each other,” but now, it’s back on. Side note, Scott is 37 and Sofia is 21.

Tyra Banks is the new host of “Dancing with the Stars,” replacing OG Tom Bergeron and his 6-year sidekick, Erin Andrews, who were fired on Monday. On today’s Good Morning America, we found out that Tyra has also been named as an executive producer of the show, so she’ll have a lot of say-so when it comes to the show’s new direction. Plus, Tyra isn’t just the first black host of DWTS, she’s the first one to host it solo. But when she was asked about the rumor that Dr. Fauci has been asked to compete on Season 29, Tyra wouldn’t confirm or deny it, but she said she didn’t think he’d do it if he was.

ViacomCBS has fired Nick Cannon over some comments he made on his most recent episode of his YouTube talk show, “Cannon’s Class.” Nick’s guest was Professor Griff, who was fired from Public Enemy way back in 1989 for some anti-Semitic comments he made, and apparently, Nick and Griff share a lot of the same views. There is way too much to break down, but in one example, Nick said people who don’t have melanin are “a little less.” He explained that when they would go out into the sun, their skin would deteriorate, which led them to have low self-esteem. And because of their deficiency, the melanin challenged people became evil savages who had to “rob, steal, rape, kill in order to survive.” In response to the firing, Nick tweeted, “Anyone who knows me knows that I have no hate in my heart nor malice intentions. I do not condone hate speech nor the spread of hateful rhetoric….I encourage more healthy dialogue and welcome any experts, clergy, or spokespersons to any of my platforms to hold me accountable and correct me in any statement that I’ve made that has been projected as negative….” He’s also spent quite a few hours retweeting messages of support, messages slamming Nick’s haters, messages calling out the hypocrisy of ViacomCBS, and even messages threatening the company.
