Showbiz Top 5: Paul Walker died tragically in car crash

‘Catching Fire’ and ‘Frozen’ set new Thanksgiving box office records… Will Renee Zellweger appear on the next season of Dancing with the Stars?… Miranda Kerr dating Australia’s richest man… Joe Jonas tells all in interview… and Paul Walker died tragically in car crash

The Thanksgiving box office record was broken by not one, but TWO movies this weekend. “The Hunger Games:  Catching Fire” took in $110.2 million over the 5-day weekend, breaking the old record of $82.4 million set by “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.” But on the same weekend, Disney’s “Frozen” earned $93 million, so it beat Harry, too! “Catching Fire” has been out a couple weeks, but this was the first week out for “Frozen,” so it set the record for the top Thanksgiving debut of all time.

According to RadarOnline.com, “Dancing with the Stars” producers are thinking about doing a season with nothing but Academy Award winners. Yeah, you keep thinking about that! But reportedly, they’re setting their sights on Renee Zellweger, figuring if they can land one, the rest will come. Of course, they would have to shell out mega money to make this happen.  But how big will these Oscar-winning stars actually be, because in past seasons, DWTS has already featured Tatum O’Neal and Cloris Leachman.

I much preferred the rumor that Miranda Kerr was hooking up with Leonardo DiCaprio, but now the rumor is that Miranda is seeing the richest man in Australia — billionaire James Packer. Three months ago, James and his model wife, Erica Baxter, announced their six-year marriage was over. Two months ago, Miranda and Orlando Bloom announced their three-year marriage was over. But here’s the thing — these couples have been long-term friends! They even vacationed together in Tahiti last year.

Joe Jonas is airing out all his dirty laundry to Vulture.com. He says that when he was 17 or 18, Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato peer-pressured him into smoking pot. He said, “It was all right. I don’t even smoke week that often anymore.” He also talked about his drinking and now he was caught at 16 or 17 and he thought the world was going to collapse. It didn’t stop him, though. On his 21st birthday, Joe drank so much that he fell down some stairs and knocked himself out. He says his team was completely freaked out that someone was going to get a picture, but that didn’t happen. And as far as losing his virginity, Joe says that happened when he was 20, which is when he was with “Twilight” star, Ashley Greene.

Paul Walker died Saturday in a fiery one-car crash outside of LA. He was only 40. Paul was the passenger in a Carrera GT being driven by one of his best friends, professional race car driver Roger Rodas. They were returning from a 20 minute joy ride when the car crashed into a light pole and a tree and disintegrated into flames. TMZ is reporting that this may have been a factory defect. There was an absence of skid marks until just before the point of impact. And the skid marks were in a straight line, indicating that the driver didn’t have control of the steering wheel. Paul leaves behind a 15-year-old daughter; Roger had an 8-year-old son. Meantime, Paul was in the middle of filming “Fast and Furious 7.”  According to “The Hollywood Reporter,” there will be a delay in production, but the movie will not be scrapped.
