Prince’s Birthday Declared ‘Prince Day’ in Minnesota

Kimbo Slice passed away… Drake’s Twitter hacked… Chrissy Teigen and John Legend’s Twitter battle with Piers Morgan… Johnny Depp and Amber Heard update… and Prince’s Birthday declared ‘Prince Day’ in Minnesota

MMA fighter Kimbo Slice passed away yesterday at the age of 42. He was rushed to the hospital in South Florida for undisclosed reasons, but those close to him say it was heart failure. Kimbo got super popular in the early 2000s when he was best known as a backyard fighter. His fights got thousands of online views. He was scheduled to fight James Thompson in London on July 16. Kimbo Slice leaves behind six children.

Somebody hacked Drake’s Twitter yesterday. This guy basically asked people to follow him on Snapchat and Twitter, and both messages were quickly deleted. It’s not clear who was behind the hack, but the account is now suspended. This is the third celebrity hack in the past week. Katy Perry’s was hit first with tweets about Taylor Swift, among other more vulgar messages. And Kylie Jenner had her Twitter hacked Sunday but she just deleted them and then went on Snapchat and said, “I don’t really care. I’m just letting them have some fun.”

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend got into a Twitter battle with Piers Morgan over his tweet about Muhammad Ali, which basically said he said “far more inflammatory/racist things about whites than Donald Trump ever has about Muslims.” Piers then tweeted, “I hope people don’t make me sound too perfect when I die. No coats of sugar please.” John Legend responded, “You could test us by announcing your retirement.” His wife Chrissy added, “from what? trolling isn’t a job (I’ve tried).” And then it was on. Piers asked Chrissy if he should take up a “proper job like modeling” and Chrissy answered, “keeps me nice and not-racist so sure, give it a go.” Then Piers suggested she read his new column about Muhammed Ali and she said, “Sorry can’t read. Just a model doing modeling.”

Two people who work in the LA apartment building where Johnny Depp and Amber Heard lived together claim they didn’t see any bruises or marks on Amber’s face in the days after she claims Johnny abused her. The alleged attack occurred on May 21, but according to TMZ, two separate doormen told a lawyer who lives in the same apartment complex that Amber looked fine to them. In fact, one said that on May 23, she came down completely makeup free and he thought she looked so flawless. Two days after that, the other doorman claims he saw her without makeup and she didn’t have any marks or blemishes on her face that day, either. They could be called to testify in a hearing regarding the alleged abuse later this month. Meantime, TMZ is reporting that Amber has a history of domestic violence, except that she was the perpetrator in the previous incident. Amber and then-girlfriend Tasya van Ree got into an argument at the Seattle airport on September 14, 2009. During their argument, Amber allegedly grabbed and hit Tasya in the arm, which ultimately led to her arrest. The prosecutor declined to move forward with the case because both women lived in California.

A couple more people have come forward to claim they deserve a piece of Prince’s estate. Norman Yates Carthens claims he was adopted by prince and that his daddy left him $7 million. He says he knows that Prince left a will because he’s in it, but Prince’s sister still claims there isn’t one. Also, a woman claiming to be one of Prince’s many half-siblings has also filed paperwork hoping to get a piece of the pie. Regina Sorenson claims she and Prince were removed from the Nelson family by Child Protection Services because they were being abused by Prince’s older step-brothers. Meantime, the governor of Minnesota has declared today “Prince Day” and is encouraging everyone to wear purple in his honor. Today would’ve been Prince’s 58th birthday.
