Jason Mamoa recently shaved the sides of his head to bring awareness to how single-use plastics are harming our oceans. And then yesterday, he showed off his fresh new ink — a giant Hawaiian tribal tattoo that starts at his temple and goes down to the middle of his neck. In the video, he captioned it, “Chief of War coming for ya baby.”

Six weeks before production was set to begin, a soccer movie starring Matthew McConaughey has been completely scrapped. “The Hollywood Reporter” says producers had received some “disturbing allegations surrounding aspects of the true story on which the drama was based.” And after they did their own investigation, they pulled the plug. The title of the movie that may never happen is “Dallas Sting.” It’s based on the true story of how China invited the US women’s soccer team to compete in an international tournament, only the US didn’t have a women’s soccer team. So they called up a bunch of teenage girls to form this team, went to China and then won the whole danged thing. Matthew would’ve played their coach, Bill Kinder. A source told “THR” that producers were so disappointed because they feel like this story deserves to be told.

If you’ve been watching “Selling the OC” you may be wondering how Tyler Stanaland’s 2-year marriage to Brittany Snow would survive. Well, it won’t. Brittany released a statement yesterday saying, “After time and consideration, Tyler and I have made the difficult decision to separate. This decision was made with love and mutual respect for one another. We have realized we need to take some time and make sure we are each living our most fulfilling and authentic lives. We started this journey as best friends and our relationship will continue to be a priority not only for us but for our dog Charlie. We sincerely appreciate your support and ask for privacy as we navigate this new chapter.” A source told “People” that Brittany and Tyler had issues before the show started. The source said, “Brittany never wanted Tyler on the show but he was adamant. He wanted to make a name for himself on his own terms.” But what Brittany saw on the air was the final straw for her marriage.

Page Six always gets the scoop on Wendy Williams, and they’ve learned that she’s checked back into rehab to treat her substance abuse. Their source said, “It’s gotten worse. She went from wine to straight up vodka.” Wendy’s ex-husband kevin Hunter told Page Six back in July that her talk show’s production company “would not sign off on the recovery efforts that would’ve helped Wendy also get well and live and be sober. They basically said, ‘If you don’t stop drinking, you’re going to lose the show.’” And that’s exactly what happened. And things have continued to get worse. Most recently, Wendy did an interview insisting that she got married to an NYPD officer.

Jimmy Kimmel was dragged on social media after being dragged on stage pretending to be passed out drunk as Quinta Brunson stepped over him to accept her first Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series. So last night, Jimmy made it right. He invited Quinta onto his show to redo her acceptance speech, and then clumsily apologized for ruining her big moment. Jimmy said, “They said I stole your moment, and maybe I did, and I’m very sorry if I did do that. I’m sorry I did do that, actually. And the last thing I would ever want to do is upset you because I think so much of you.” Quinta graciously accepted, saying, “It is very kind of you to say that. I honestly was in such a moment of just having a good time, like I won my first Emmy. I was up there, like, you know, happy.”
