Reactions to Taylor Swift’s Song

“Def Jam Comedy” special… Amy Schumer chimes in… Models in the Victoria’s Secret fashion show… Usher asks to throw out the $20 million lawsuit… and Reactions to Taylor Swift’s new single

Remember “Def Jam Comedy” that ran on HBO? First it was on from 1992-1996. Then then revived it in 2006. This show helped launch the careers of comedians like Martin Lawrence, Cedric the Entertainer and Sheryl Underwood. In honor of its 25th anniversary, Netflix is going to run a “Def Jam Comedy” special, featuring the three I just mentioned, along with a whole slew of others including Kevin Hart, Steve Harvey, Tracy Morgan, Dave Chappelle, D.L. Hughley, and a whole bunch more. Look for it this fall.

Speaking of Netflix, Variety magazine ran a story earlier this week about gender pay inequality in Hollywood and highlighted how much Amy Schumer is getting paid to do her Netflix special compared to what Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle are getting. Their story said that when news broke that Chris and Dave were getting $20 million, Amy’s people went back and demanded more than the $11 million she was promised. Amy decided to address the issue by getting undressed on Instagram. She’s standing there in a thong holding a dog dressed like a hot dog to cover her boobs. She captions it, “Thanks for chiming in on what you feel I deserve to be paid. I believe women deserve equal pay. However I don’t believe I deserve equal pay to Chris and Dave. They are legends and 2 of the greatest comics of all time. I would like to say that I have been selling out arenas these last couple years. Something a female comic has never done. That’s a big deal to me, especially because I know I do my best every night on stage for the audience and they have a good time. I didn’t ask for the same as my friends. I did ask for more than the initial offer. I will continue to work my ass off and be the best performer I can be. The reports of me ‘demanding’ or ‘insisting’ on equal pay to them aren’t a true. #fat #stealsjokes”

Vogue Australia has released the list of models who will walk in this year’s Victoria’s Secret fashion show, which will most likely take place in Shanghai. Confirmed Angels include Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Behati Prinsloo, Candice Swanepoel, Lily Aldridge, Stella Maxwell, Martha Hunt…..looking for Kendall Jenner….nope! Still looking……nuh-uh. And it doesn’t look like Bella and Gigi Hadid are on there, either. But, this is the list of confirmed Angels SO FAR. There’s still time.

According to TMZ, Usher is asking a judge to throw out the $20 million lawsuit Jane Doe from Georgia filed against him for allegedly giving her herpes. According to the filing, Usher’s attorneys argue that the lawsuit doesn’t mention if Jane had been tested before the two of them hooked up, meaning that Jane may have been infected by a previous partner. The suit also argues that Jane assumed the risk of contracting an STD by not using protection.

Taylor Swift’s new song “Look What You Made Me Do” is out and people are going crazy. Obviously, she’s out for revenge, taking digs at Kanye West and Katy Perry. And as far as comparisons to Right Said Fred’s “I’m Too Sexy,” nobody needs to stress about it. She gives them a writing credit on the song. And reaction on social media has been mixed. A few samples from Twitter include:

“I AM SHAKING THIS IS PERFECTION”

“i literally started crying during the song this is what she does to me”

“Petty and immature. Kind of messy… so a typical Taylor song.”

“GOODBYE TO HER REPUBLICAN FANS SHE DIDNT COME TO PLAY B****”

What???
